Must have been someone else, I cannot afford a GTO at the moment. If I could, it would be a C5.

Yeah now that I think about it, he had a different hood and some other things were different too. I do LOVE that blue color you have though!

That is a nice Daytona. Those GTO grilles look SICK.

The deal with things not adding up on the silver 2000 Daytona car is that it is NOT a 2000 Daytona car. It is a retired 2001 Pace Car.

The 2001 Grand Prix Pace Cars were silver, but not the same silver as the year 2000 Daytona 500 Pace Cars. Also, they were not Special Editions. They do not have the roof rails, or the "special edition" spoilers.

But Pontiac did put the heat extractors on them. Actually, not the heat extractor full system, just the plastic scoop piece on the hood. Pontiac just liked having them on the Pace Cars.

The 2001 Pace Cars had that "lightning bolt" pattern graphics set, while the 2000 Daytona 500 Pace Cars (the ones in the race or the two display cars) had a different pattern that started with a large Pontiac logo on the hood.

Dunnsters car is correct. People just need to realize that it is an actual race used pace car (or display car used at tracks), and so it is a bit different then the Pace Car Editions that people are used to.

Aside from the Daytona 500 Pace Cars, the Pontiac Grand Prixs used in Winston Cup as Pace Cars were:

1998 White (Daytona 500 used Blue Grand Prixs)
1999 Blue (Daytona 500 was a white TA)
2000 White (Daytona 500 used silver Grand Prixs)
2001 Silver (Daytona 500 used Marroon AZTECS)
2002 Cherry Red (Daytona used the CE TA)
2003 Silver and some orange (Daytona used orange GPs)

Thank you, and glad to be here! :P

That's my baby. Wish I had more time to keep her cleaner these days, but work demands. She makes a great garage queen! :D
