I own a 98 Pontiac Pace car edition Grand Prix GTP. I was driving it the other day and it just died. Has fire to plugs. No power to fuel pump. Replaced fuel relays and changed out PCM. Ive read and read but havent found out the problem yet. Seems many people have many answers ranging from oil pressure switch, FTP, PCM, fuel pump, relays, and anywhere between. My car has been parked for a couple weeks now with no diagnosis. Seems there is no ground getting to anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A wiring diagram would be awesome to possess. I jumped the fuel relay and the fuel pump works but with no injectors opening....

Walking with Grand Prix sitting.....

Have you replaced the fuel pump resistor?

I am not 100% sure where its at but I think its behind the Pass side head light if I remember right

I could not locate the resistor. I was told it was on the framerail in front of the tire, passenger side. Looked everywhere around the rail and havent found one.

If someone has a photo of the location, it would be of great help.

Michael

hanks for the diagram...I located the resistor and bypassed it, nothing. It seems the pcm is not getting ground signal as I use test light on wires, all the injectors and relays click, on at a time as I test for current. Replaced the oil pressure sensor today. Still nothing. Called two GM service depts. One says theres a fuel shut off valve listed for my car ...$140.00 but he dont know where its located, the other says no, they dont have a fuel shut off. Im starting to thin kthis car would make a good test car for the fire dept. jaws of life. Which fuel component is bad to cause no pcm ground?
Notes: the information system reads all 0's and blinking. Wont reset. The fuel gauge is pegged at Full but half full tank. The traction control light is on and stays on while ignition on, and wont go off. IS this because the car is not running and normal.... something more? Anyone in Grand Prix land have a wiring diagram for the PCM?

Another note: The engine oil life was at 1% last checked when running. COuld a 0% oil life cause these problems? Ive tried resetting it to no avail both with reset button and pressing gas pedal 3 times.

Just Hold it down it takes forever but will reset without pumping the pedal

i had this same problem just last week and i checked the relays too and found out that it was the fuse that ran the relay under the hood i think that its #32 its a 15 amp fuse and it started right up for me hope that works, other than that it probally is the fuel pump.

If you have the key in the ignition in the on position without the car running, the DIC will blink 0.
