Decided to run a baseline before I mod the G8. She made 306 whp / 317 TQ

Only mod was a homemade intake from previous owner, but it didn't help nor hurt. It still ran stock dyno results.

Nice numbers, This proves to me that the Superchips tune works nicely.. I am at 330 to the wheels with a 93 octane tune.

At least you know that no ponies have escaped from the stable  That torque curve, or lack thereof, it pretty nice.

You should definitely get a tune. It makes a big difference and allows the motor to take advantage of the increased airflow from the CAI. The Superchips tuner works great on the G8 for the motor and trans plus it's easy to use. If you out grow it with more mods you can always sell it.

I would have thought your combo gave you a bit more yeild for hp. The 93 octane tune alone is a 25 hp boost from what I've read. I may just get the superchips tune just so I can tune the tranny. It just seems to me that it's not shifting to my liking much, just a little more in sports mode. I also need to find ways of reducing heat soak. The G8 isn't happy being hot at all. I never had this problem with the grand prix at all, she always ran consistent numbers.

Oh just the other day I found out about pollen mode. Just hold down the recirculate button for like 5 secs and it'll show up on the screen that the mode activated.

93 octane gives you max factory power. The Superchips tuner gives you another 30 whp above that, which is close to 50 hp more at the crank.

I have a heat soak reduction kit I bought for around $100 and it works good. You can find it in the link below.

A VMS tune was another idea I had too + that cable to update when I need a update. That way I can flip back and forth between tunes for street and track.

Really? Ive driven the GP a few times lately and it seems to have better shifting than the G8. It feels like there is a lag of some sort holding it back.

The trans shifts much better using the stock settings with the Superchips tuner than the factory settings. I have mine set to that since I feel the same as Marc that the firmer settings shift too hard.

The motor has 385 lbs of torque since it has the LS3 heads. It also responds well to a cam since they flow so well.

Engine size doesn't mean much. The new Ford 5.0 makes more power than my 6.0 motor in stock form. That's an impressive motor in the Mustang. GM needs to redesign the LS motor since it's outdated compared to the Coyote.

this is true. the coyote needs a bit more time though to see if it's as reliable even though on paper it should be

the truck vertion is a bit tamer then the mustang vertion with less compretion and diffrent cams

The new 5.0 has a problem with cylinder 8 ticking or something. A friend of mine just got the new mustang and just dicided not to mod cuz of it.
