Hey guys, according to ZZP's cam breakdown, it says you should run 90lb or 105lb springs. I will be putting a double-timing chain when I make the change..

I emailed ZZP about it, and to my surprise, I was told to run 130lb springs with the double roller??

Anyone running this cam with stock L32 heads? LMK ... I'll be putting the stock 1.6 ratio rockers back in, since 1.8 will not work with the switch.

Cheers!

you can use the 90s or the 105s as the site says.. im using 90s cause i already have them on there from my old cam setup.. im debateing on using either a new stock chain and tensioner or double roller.. i have a jp double on already but not sure if i wanna keep it will all these issues goin on with it..

I have a JP here as well, but it's not installed. I don't want to buy another set, seeing how this one hasn't even been used, and I am stuck with it. I ordered the 105 springs about a week ago, figured that would be the best option on my stock heads.

yea there is some measurements you can make supposedly to make sure your chain setup is fine. i wanna say that its now pinpointed at the cam gear.. i have like 2800 miles on my jp double with a gen v , IS3 cam setup and it seems fine but mine is also like 2 yrs old.. supposedly the new ones are more prone to having issues..

I was talking to Farnesworth, he said I could probably have a chamfer made on it to sit better, but that's no guarantee something won't go wrong. The guy I bought this off of, said it was old, and had been sitting. He also said it was new, but the gears show some wear on the matte black finish, so it's gotta be used. It's probably fine, but I think I might have it machined just in case... Thanks for the assistance though!

I think there is a misunderstanding here. They should have said you need to run the double roller at spring pressures over 130#. You can run a double roller on stock springs if you want. Don't need it, but you can. If you want to change out the chain every other month, you could run 150# springs on a stock chain. That isn't advisable, for very obvious reasons.

Personally, I intend to run 105# springs on a new stock chain, and call it good.

Yea, I read it, but it's littered with stupid people asking if they are going to be fine, and they have 50k miles already on their double roller... Like seriously? If it was a dud/bomb, it would have exploded by now.

Clubgp = topic taken over by stupid questions and people putting their two cents when they clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

Thanks for the advice guys.. Unfortunately, I already have the double roller in my possession, so... Do I use the $100~+ part, or just sit on it?? I may as well use it !

I'd use it, and modify as neccessary.

I guess we'll have to see what happens! I'm going to take some detailed pics and send them to Farnesworth so he can put his two cents on if it needs so work. I won't be able to test it until I am literally installing it.
