Hey guys. After years of putting it off I added up my finances and made the leap to turbo. I wanted this post to be a gathering of information to give the people asking some insight into adding a turbo kit. I am a novice so hopefully some of the turbo guys can help answer any questions that I may ask as well as others. This post will have more or less step by step photos of how things go together.

This build is not going to be balls to the wall like some guys on here but enough to make the car more fun to drive. My goal is to have a reliable turbo car to have fun with.

Placed all of the orders today.
Pics will be up when received in and unpacked at my shop.

Items for the build...

That's great news, Vic! I wish you the best of luck with your Turbo project, although I'm sure you won't need it judging by the stuff you've already dont to the car. Youre a pro, man. Keep us updated

As long has you have another car it's cool. I have a friend with a twin turbo T/A tell me that he's had it for 5 yrs and still has to work on it on weekends to make work right. Since I use my Gp has a daily driver I'm going with the top swap for sure. I've never heard of a single really bad thing about going S/C yet.

Ps- if u do get the turbo, get it dyno tuned. It critical that the a/f ratio is perfect. You just can't get the same results without a dyno and just install the zzp PCM. Talk to Rodman and Qball since they r the only ones who have done a turbo set up.

You already have one of the best looking 04+ GPs and with a turbo set up, the car is going to be AWESOME!

Thanks for the kind works and tranny concerns guys, lol. I know it will only be a matter of time for the tranny to give out. I am planning on a built trans next winter to account for that.

I talked to Zoomer about my worries of a box tune and how I wanted something reliable rather than balls to the wall. He told me it was more how far I push the boost rather than in the tune. I will be running a wideband and keeping an eye on my A/F with the box tune and see where it gets me. Most likely a local guy and myself will make the drive together to have both turbo cars dyno tuned in the spring. This thing isnt road raced more than once or twice a year anymore and only has 50 miles a week or so in the nice months other than a few longer distance car shows.

Hope to see parts rolling in tomorrow :)

15 psi too much? What I was thinking of doing was getting the tranny first cuz the torque converter is also good for n/a

In a perfect world I would do the tranny at the same time, but car funds only go so far now that I am married. I think you would be better off doing the trans first but I am a person that needs instant gratification.

I plan on starting with 8psi and moving on from there when I am more comfortable.

I hope this thread might help you out then. I have spend countless hours looking for information or looking for turbo setup pics.

After trying to sell the GP and not having anyone want to shell out for it I figured I would add something to it that will make it fun again. As for the crossfire.... I still want one.... bad:)

^if u ever have kids, the crossfire will be the first thing to go. At least the Gp is a nice sporty family sedan.

The first batch of parts showed up today so I took some pics.

I also had a slow day at work so I worked on the car a bit and got the front bumper assembly off. Planning on spending a little time Saturday clearing some space for the intercooler and finding better spots for the 4 HID ballast.

Did some work today...

Made a new wire harness for the gauges in the pod. Also ran the tubing to the engine bay for the boost gauge.
Image

The switch for the electric cut out installed. Make a harness for the wiring and got everything ran to its place.
Image

The front end is removed and I think I have room for the inter cooler. If needed I will be trimming that middle brace to get everything to fit. I need to mount up the HID ballast in better spots and scuff the bumper steel and paint it Galaxy Silver, as it had a little surface rust.

Nice! I've been planning a few projects myself. Im getting some fabric paint and continue my two two beige and black interior on the stock seats. I'm also going to see about that glare shield thing too.

Just an idea... I've been thinking of porting the lower intake manifold with a dermal for better air flow. Maybe u can see about that since your car is down for now.

I am going to shoe horn the intercooler behind the bumper. It should fit without a problem, but the slanted brace in the center of the car might need trimming.

Did you cut out the bumper on your? Feel free to post up a pic for reference.
