I'm just doing some research of parts for the future build. Don't know if any of you guys have one, but it looks like a must have! I'm also looking around for a nice electronic boost controller & meth kit too.

Turbo timers are nice, but you could just stay in the car after you reach your destination for a minute or two. Most will just drive like a grandma the last few miles, park and wait 30 seconds to a minute.

I'm Looking for a boost controller as well, but will probably just pick up the manual one Matt sells.

Which turbo kit are you going with?

I know I could just stay in the car, but it is a daily driver too- so I gotta have something to protect the turbo from f*king up. I'm looking at a e2 smart boost controller. It's a guage too. :)

I'm more than likey getting a Z3 kit

I don't run one either.. Who hammers on their car before turning it off? If you run it hard, let it idle for a minute before you shut her down. If you decide you're in the market for an E-Boost2, let me know.. Might get rid of mine to put the funds towards something else, not really using it to it's potential.

Is it compicated to use? I like the fact it also controls the meth too.

The instruction manual is thick. You need to seriously sit down and learn how to use it. I didn't put the methanol injection yet, so it isn't hooked up. Lots to do, taking my sweet time as usual.

I started looking at a AEM tru boost controller. It seems simple to use, but it appears to fully take advantage of these things it must be put on a dyno and adjusted. The smart turbo e2 is the same most likely. This one only cost like $300 though, but with basic settings- but still better than a manual one.

I can see the want for an electronic boost controller, but I personally prefer keeping things as simple as possible and sticking with a good manual controller.

If you have the money to throw around for these parts then go for it and disregard the rest of my post.

There is no need to control the meth kit. Set the pressure switch to come on at 2-3 psi and leave it. Set it low so it has time to pressurize. Use the washer bottle as the tank so you know when it's getting low. You can go with a variable kit so that as boost increases, so does pump pressure. It is nice, but not necessary and just one more thing that could fail.

As for a turbo timer, not necessary either. Turbo tech has come a long way. The only time you would need it is if you drive hard and then would have to shut it off immediately, like parking. Do what others have said, if somehow you drove it really hard, use idle it for a minute. Regular driving with a wot run here and there isn't going to damage anything.

E-controllers are again, cool to have, but not necessary. How often are you going to be changing boost level on the fly? It's something you usually set and forget unless you added mods and want to up the boost. They don't offer significant, if any, gains in spool time either.
