Just like to get an idea of what people's setups look like... Please just post one engine shot, so we can
keep it short and sweet!

Here's how I parked mine last fall... Still missing strut/engine supports.. Powdercoat gear is in, as well as other goodies, so I'll have a *hopefully* updated picture in a few months!

I'm not too worried about it... I think my flexplate will go before the chain. I will cross my fingers... I am not pushing for maximum, just looking for 500WHP and that'll be good. I think over 550+ and you're gambling with too many parts... I only read about major breaks on HIGH horsepower cars. Yes, I've read the occasional thread about a chain, or an input shaft (Vic), but there are usually other variables to consider. As we all know, anything over 300, is a gamble. I just want to finish modding the car this year, and look at another platform for something new (as a second toy). Can't get rid of this car, it's too much fun and they are actually not as common as we make them out to be.. I am not in a huge city where there are hundreds of modded GTPs, there are only a half dozen, if that, in my area, that are even beyond basic mods.

I'm getting more than the turbo... 3" downpipes, T66, 2.5" intercooler piping + oversized A2A. Fuel pump swap going in as well, and the usual bells and whistles... Working a trade for it, so I don't have exact dollar numbers at hand.

Bad ass engine bays, especially you Rodman! :cool:

Some years down the road I will have my turbo project underway on my drag car. Going to pay my house off first.

The donor car will be a 2dr. 1997 GTP. Its sitting out behind my garage now. Plans are to gut the car, make a mold of the body from bumper to bumper, and make a carbon fiber body from the mold. No glass, Lexan windows, and the sunroof hole will be a secondary escape hatch, much like a funny car. I will build the frame for it, and just sit the body down over the top of it. It will still utilize the 3.8, but will be converted to RWD since its all being built from scratch.

Something along these lines as far as the turbo placement goes, but will be mounted higher, above the radiator support, so the inlet will be through the front of the hood.

The idea is to make it a clone of my current GTP, but with it being all carbon fiber for the body, I will have a cool paint job in the same red as my car. I do not want to cover up all the carbon fiber, I'm after the nude weave being left exposed.
