Well the time has come to upgrade the Grand Prix.  The built trans will be here Tuesday.  Staying with 2.93 gears, upgraded to 7/8ths chain(they don't currently make 1" anymore. :(
Upgraded 4th hub, shift kit, and 300m input shaft and a bunch of other little stuff. Should be able to handle well into 500hp.  Although I doubt I'll even come close to that power.

After the trans is installed I will be installing this:

Should be here Tuesday.  :)
Looking forward to the setup change.

Thought I would post for anyone curious or to help when people search. [;)]

Decided to finally do the LIM gasket on my 97 GTP:

The lower intake manifold gasket has been leaking for some time. Started to pull the top of the engine apart. I also disassembled a blower to convert it to use in the turbo setup.

Rotors and snout separated from it's case. I forgot how God awful the smell of supercharger oil is.

[IMaGe]http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee2/txslow6/Grand%20Prix/1296273833.jpg[/IMaGe]

The case on the left is what's left after the "guts" were removed. The case on the right is off a 2000 M90. The main difference being the vacuum tree that comes on the 97.

[IMaGe]http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee2/txslow6/Grand%20Prix/1296273831.jpg[/IMaGe]

Fuel rail is removed.

Image

What 187,000 mile injector looks like.

Image

The orange brown gunk over the rail and on the injector is S/C oil and coolant sludge.

The snout seal(by pulley) blew on the supercharger causing it to ooze and then get flung around the engine compartment.

Blower off.
Image

Image

This was the nasty one on the left pictured above. After cleaning and prepping it was ready for paint. I used hi temp engine paint that was picked up from the parts store. Color is aluminum.

Image

M90 block off plate on....

Image

Everything bolted back on the case and ready for reinstall.

Image

LIM removed. Yummy
Image

Image

Image

This just looks funny.
Image

Ready to move under it's own power again.
Image

Next I'll be acquiring some valve covers to paint. The 190K ones on there have seen better days and its time to retire them. LOL

Now to just wait for the turbo kit to arrive.

It's coming along. I'm stuck for the night cause I had snapped a few of the hard vacuum lines. Hopefully, I'll be driving again tomorrow.

^^^ That's the problem, it's just a chain without the gears and you kind of need both.

Yes it's the one that comes with the cartuning kit.

The dp should be modified to work around ABS as well as the EGR. Not sure how it will work cause I was looking at the exhaust/egr/ and tranny dipstick. That's gonna be a tight squeeze.

There will be a cutout as well on the lower dp so that should help with performance as well.

Got a guy talking some trash in a Conquest that runs a turbo and nitrous. Hopefully I'll wax his ass, but it's gonna be difficult without a cam/rocker setup. Hopefully the GP on its new setup fairs well. I lost bad last time on the S/C setup with the tranny slipping.

Trans goes in Tuesday

-- Sun Jan 30, 2011 12:01 pm --

Just got back from a test drive. Damn it feels good to go WOT. I haven't been able to do that in 6-7 months. I've been driving around without the S/C belt on since the bearings took a dump on me. I miss the blower but she doesn't pull too bad NA.

Trans and torque convertor arrived at the shop.

Image

They are also doing the rear driver window regulator/pw motor. Yea for no more sagging window.

They will also be replacing the lower engine mout as well as the trans mount. The 188K miles have created havoc on the oil pan gasket. Its leaking horribly bad and will be replaced. Puts me way over the limit on what I was wanting to spend, but these issues need to be addressed. So the turbo kit install will be put on hold for the time being.

Add the rear main seal now because it was the largest issue. :iLee:
Also found out there was a subframe bolt missing. :iLee: :iLee:
Here are some pictures I took after work.

Auto Fix It is doing an awesome job taking care of my car. The customer service is top notch. On side note the turbo kit was shipped. :headbang:

-- Sun Feb 13, 2011 9:27 am --

Amazing how much better a car feels all around by simple maintenance.

So here's the list of things replaced
-rear main seal
-timing cover gasket
-oil pan gasket
-oil pan repaired from the huge dent in it
-built trans installed
-driver side swaybar endlink
-lower engine mount
-trans mount
-driver rear window regulator and pw motor replaced
-alignment
-subframe bolt

No more oil leaks. :)

Just need to do the front O2 sensor and I should be set for Route 66 trip.

The car honestly feels like its brand new again and drives amazing.

Auto fix it in Plano did an awesome job and their customer service is nothing short of amazing. I would recommend them for any automotive related needs

Now that the car is repaired I'm missing the blower. I may end up giving in and just installing the kit myself

-- Sun Feb 13, 2011 9:28 am --

Well I'm off to GSS today for dyno day. This should give me a baseline on power with minimal mods.

mods are as follows:
2.5" dp
1st gen DHP shelf tune
FWI intake

Should make for an interesting dyno.

-- Sun Feb 13, 2011 4:46 pm --

Had a good time at the dyno day.

So wait. You're running around on 8.5:1 compression, non s/c, with 2.93 gearing while waiting for a turbo kit to arrive? That has to be dog piss slow.

Is the I/C included with the CT turbo kit A2A?

Yes, it's very piss slow.

Yes the used kit I purchased comes with A2A intercooler and 60lb injectors. I bought the kit from Kuntzie 3 weeks ago, but have yet to receive the turbo kit or a tracking number. He swears Kevin shipped the kit out last week. I'm gonna be pissed if I'm out over 2 grand  .

I recognize that name, he's been around for a while. Not saying that means anything, but from what I saw of his past transactions he's not the kind of guy who would rip you off. When was the last you heard from him?

That's what I thought as well. He's been around for quite sometime and I seriously doubt he would want to throw his reputation under the bus. Last I heard from him was on Wedensday of last week saying the kit was shipped out. I sent him an email yesterday, but didn't get a response. I emailled him just a minute ago to let him know that I would wait till Friday to dispute and put a blast on all the gp forums. I know it's coming from Canada, but I would think 4 weeks is plenty of time for it to arrive.

Customs can really delay things though. I sent a SSIC to canada once and it took weeks to get there even though I paid for expedited shipping.

I just bought some projector headlights from Kuntzie a few weeks ago and i got my stuff right away( although im in Canada..). If you saw the pics of all the gp parts he has for sale,i don't think he would be ripping anybody off.

Well he went up there and apparently Kevin was waiting for him to finalize everything. Anyways, to make things right they went ahead and shipped some new parts with the kit so all is well that ends well. I received a tracking number and its on the way.

Did some work to the GTP

Had to hack off the tow hitch closest to the the driver side. This is to allow both pipes room to get to the fenderwell.

I'm considering cutting out the center section of the lower valence. Just not sure how much it will effect the durability of the bumper.

Couldn't get the stud all the way out as it was still there and wouldn't allow for me to install the y-pipe cross over. Had to remove the manifold and hated every minute of. The blockoff plate, plug wires, O2, and plugs had to be removed to allow the manifold wiggle room.
