i dont think the turbo itself would have any harm from the elements, and im sure the filter is stuffed somewhere semi dry?

where is the filter located at?

My only question is do u think u have enough guages and it must really suck to only have 1 functional driver side ac vent lol. but other wise that highway run looked like pure fun.

LOL...thanks guys! its been a project for sure! but great people helping me out along the way...this is a little of everyones car i think...so many good friends made and relationships made stronger throughout i have to say...but newayz! LOL

To answer some questions....the air filter is on a stack up in the rear fender well....i tried it without the stack and put on a shorty mushroom filter on it with a dry sock and a custom deflector plate and well, lets just say the dry charger doesnt work if you have the rain constant....it screwed my whole tune and was getting in the intake and hitting the maf a screwing it all!!! so put it back on stack...modified the original design by shorting the stack length so I could run a 8.5"x4" spectur filter...the other one on the stack prior to going striaght on with the mushroom was a 5''x3.5"....i ran a sock on it...but now...just running that big o filter with no sock...its getting fresh air from the opening in wheel well...but its not exposed to the elemennts now....

as far as daily...YES IT IS!! since day 1!! LOL...

as far as gauges....at least they arent stickers!! LOL...I didnt want one system go unmonitored being the first to do this to this motor and put on a T70 on unforged and OE internals....its really pretty sweet...tripple pod as you can see but, have Innovate XD-16 in middle running on the LC-1, and the two top and bottom gauges are aeroforce scanners...the bottom one is purely devoted to oil and fuel psi which i can monitor at the same time...that gauge will monitor the ECU as well but, the aux inputs we installed allow me to keep those numbers in paticular right in my face....FP for obvious reasons but the oil psi due to me have a custom block tap for my turbo feed and running a rear mounted oil pump...so want to watch that psi...the aux for both fuel psi and oil psi are aftermarket and put on senders under hood....

the top gauge is whatever i want....i primarily monitor IAT and KR...and then for tranny temp i just put it up on my DIC...

so...if i wanted to monitor all that stuff without the ability and flexibility of the aeroforces I would have a dam cockpit and missing wings!! LOL...think...that would be 5 gauges just for AFR, OIL & FUEL PSI, KR, IAT...WOW!! LOL...but on top of all its just nice to be able to monitor that stuff!! LOL...possibilities are endless LOL

as far as the vents....its really not that bad at all...I have the big middle one that works even better now due to the airflow change creating more velocity....so not as much power from fans which equals less draw on power system which equals performance!! LMAO JK...

firs pic is current set up and a nice lil warm turbo blanky to keep Gary warm in combo with the wrap from front to back to help that spool time!! This 2rd is a pic of the old set up with the smaller filter on stack and the dry charger...that worked good but i had the brilliant idea to put in directly on the inlet...as you see in pic 2....this is where the problems started and lead to the new stack design....with bigger filter and no sock...so lots of trial and error!! its been a pain in the ass!! LOL

your only getting 380hp it said? dont they have something like 340 stock. none the less amazing. but id imagine the lag is horrible. unless you did a hook up like the sierra HD has with an airbox and a turbo

lol...no no...we are 230 to the wheels and 303hp to the crank; thats probably what your thinking of from factory...LOL...so I got over a 148 whp increase running only 8psi...and i think it was 170 tq...so great increase and plenty to go!! we did it on the dyno with 23 pulls with a cloggy filter and that was after over 30 hrs of tuning on the street to figure this E67 ECU out...it was the first year for the new ECU and last year for the car...so nothing to refrence...we made a lil history with HPT...they helped out alot!! my tuner none the less is fantastic!!

As far as lag goes....NO PROBLEMS...NO LAG! it was specked out and researched far in advance....this is a 5.3L 325ci LS4 small block...close as brothers to LS1, 2, 3, 6, 7 as far as composistion....it has 243 heads which are same casting as LS6 and are great for boost...10:1 compression ration...lil high but, just gotta keep it conservative...alum. block but with all the LSx internals...

The lag issue was a concern in the beginning...but, after doing plenty of research on the other side of the fence with the other rear mount LSx cars on LS1Tech...we discovered by staying a manifold car and wrapping the exhaust does wonders as night and day on spool time and to reduce or even preven lag!! this being a single downpipe car as all the FWD GPs are from factory, actually sits well with a rear mount set up! it doesn just fine...and I have a fully built TEP tranny and decided to stay with true 293's so its a real tall drink of water when this T70 gets spooling...we were suprised that the motor took the .96 a/r so well with the exhaust pressure!

long story short...it all fell in well!! and is the World's 1st Remotely Mounted Grand Prix GXP and LS4! LOL its gotta a kick to it! so im a lil proud of it...but it wasnt all me!! heres the link to my build thread if you have some time lol

LOL...thanks Andy! and KJ...sorry to say...LMAO...it does have the good ol bassackward piddle paddles LOL...they do the trick though to command the tranny when wanting to stay built up.....especially on dyno...so i would say even though they are kind of prostetic and not TRUE...they really have a way of helping out on any power adder car...its really good on the race tranny! you push the button to shift...your ass is feeling it especially at higher non preset RPMS....WOW! LOL i really cant tell you how many time tuner said hold it there and i couldnt have without those lil guys LOL  and its cool to see the lil shift light LOL...bet some of you guys didnt know they had them?? LOL...i didnt until it screamed at me!! tuner said "WTF, why you shift ?" I said, "Cause it told me too!" LMAO...and it was right on it! just a lil true story sharing there LOL

I originally thought about a rear mount setup but ended up going traditional in the long run. Really nice to see you document your adventure so other people may follow. Not much good information out there on GP rear mounts. Congrats :)
