Want to know if a pcm from a 2004 GTP will work in my 2004 comp-g? Thanks

Reason I need another pcm: I was having missfires and replaced everything but the injectors and still was missing, so i decided to get new injectors. Since I was replacing the injectors and still planned to mod the car i decided i should just get bigger injectors. So I bought the 39lb injectors from zzp and had my pcm tuned for the bigger injectors. When i started it, the missfires are worse than ever!!! So I want to start from ground zero and put my stock injectors back in. Since i already spent the money to get my pcm tuned i really dont want to flash it and throw that money away. So, I am looking to get a used pcm to put in until i get the problem fixed to put my tuned pcm back in. I found one but its from a non comp-g GTP and was wondering if it would work. Thanks.

well, cant i go to any one with a tech 2 and get them to flash the pcm? And when they flash the pcm dont they "reprogram" it back to stock by just putting in vehicle specific data? I read somewhere that I can tell tell the person with the tech 2 to program it with comp-g specs? will this work? thanks.

I would think it with work with no problem but it would have to reprogrammed with a comp g bin file. I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure someone here has tried it. Another thing, did you replace the wires? The factory wires are somewhat fragil. Many people end up damaging their wires when changing the plugs or doing other repairs under the hood. Are you able to determine which cylinders are misfiring? If so swap some of wires to see if the misfires follow the wires or remain where they are. If the misfires continue on the same cylinders try swapping the coil packs around. You really need a scanner to tell what's going on but this should let you find out where the problem is. You probably need to take a look at the plugs. They may need gapping or replacing.

Good Luck,

Steven
