looking into getting a pcm for my car and im not sure what all companies make them and which ones you guys recommend i could use some help thanks. i drive a 2005 grand prix gt2

i have been looking at the new overkill and am wandering if it would be my best bet in getting an aftermarket tuned pcm or if zzp's is better?

Where are you located?? you might be able to find someone local to do a custom tune which will be better not all cars act the same to a canned tune. A custom is the best way to go

i live in council bluffs iowa or basically right next to omaha, nebraska

i would definitely rather do that if someone on here would happen to know were there would be a place that would be able to do that for around the same price or so as the overkill one.

well i've tried getting a hold of will at overkill but no luck and i've been trying to find someone around here to tune with no luck but one place that wants 400 which i way to high for me right now. doers anyone have one of the overkill pcm's in there n/a cars

400 for a dyno tune isnt too bad at all, if thats what it is. its worth it if youve got some mods and plan on staying where your at.

I would suggest staying away from ZZPs pcm. They do not know how to set the transmission settings properly and CAN harm your tranny and it just plain sucks to drive. If you are gonna buy a box tune i would suggest Overkill

JCGSGTP,
What's bad in the ZZP PCM for trannys?? I have both a ZZP PCM and Tranny and would like to protect my investment on that trans.

thanks!

zzp's are unlocked so you can adjust settings with someone that has a powertuner.

The ZZP PCM sets line pressure WAY too high. It will shift very hard and at wrong times. I have heard alot of 04+ ppl complain as well as some actually replace tranny due to the slipage from it only to purchase a new tranny for nothing. Just do some research its out there. I'm talking from experience though. Mine was JUNK!

^^

I have a slight hesitation at the top of first gear when I hammer it. No slipping or RPM variance, but it annoys me. You think swapping out my ZZP PCM would help? It has a shift kit in it already and I love they way it shifts, just worried alittle about the hesitation.

I not for one minute regret going Overkill. SOOOO much better in everything. Plus you gives you a hell of a deal if you swap in another companys PCM

Best to try and do it local. I have been trying to get ahold of Will for about two weeks now and I sent him a PCM for retuning about a week ago. Not sure what is going on with him right now...... :???:
