Don't buy a zzp tune, they delete all the torque management for the transmission prematurely killing the transmission. Go with intense, they modify it but don't get rid of it. Unless you find a tuner of course.

For what it is worth. I have been running ZZP tunes for the last 110k on the same stock N/A trans. IMO tunes don't eat transmissions, people's driving habits and lack of maintenance do.

Cracked flex plates are not all that uncommon in GPs. Like I said, peoples driving habits. I have been to the track with Derek, so i'm sure he isn't driving Mrs. Daisy. :)

Yeah, I deleted torque management on mine, and the trans wasn't exactly all together in that car. I beat the thing, and never had trouble over the course of 15,000 miles.

Regardless of ZZP's torque management (or lack thereof) and deletion of trans error codes, a custom tune will be a better choice anyway cause then you can do what you want and tune for how your car is running.

For my GF's 97 GT, my friend who has HPT, we based the tune off of ZZP's tune and changed it a little (not that you can tweak too much with a N/A car), but I'm running a pretty much stock torque management unlike the ZZP tune, but then again, that car did come with the bastard transmission.

^^i understand i cant do a whole lot with an NA but i figure the skip shifts and maybe getting some better fuel economy...so im holding out for a custom tune for sure

I loved how my tune came out. Yeah, the car is still going to be slow as fark compared to boosted cars, but drivability is way better. The skip shift and zero delay fuel enrichment are my favorite parts. Whenever the "ricers" try to do a fly by, just smash the gas and the trans shifts into second or first right away. Catches some of them by surprise. I'm also getting about 33+ MPG on the highway, and that's running rich since it's cold out and the tune is slightly rich to begin with haha. Best 100 bucks I've ever spent modding.

That's the one that tuned actually. She loves it. My VW's are all stock tuning right now, but that will soon change. However, they get out easy with tuning. Just flash the ECU and done. 195 whp in 15 seconds is pretty good IMO. I can't wait. But I do wish there was some interface like HPT for VW/Audi. That would be sweet.
