well ive been looking around at types of scan tools for my car. My stand alone is broken and i would like to have one that uses my laptop to read and store the data. Now i know there are several different ones out there. scantool, obddiagnostics, autotap, AVT. Ive been recomended the AVT one but it also costs $370 for the converter and cables. How is the AVT compared to scantool and the others.

I bought autotap a few months ago, Best purchase for the money. It tells you everything there is to know. If you go with autotap you won't be disappointed.
