Hey guys, starting to do some research and learn as much as I can before I put my HPtuner on my car. I'm just reading the "Tuner Notebook" (http://www.opentuner3800.com/guides/Tun ... tebook.pdf) And I'm just wondering about people that have used it for Series 3 engines.

Also, for anyone that is familiar with this write up I'd like to know more info on the "In the CALIBRATION DATA > FUEL > TORQUE MGMT folder:" portion. It tells you; "In our cars, in a performance tune, leaving these things there could likely result in either sub-par performance at the least. At most, it places you in a dangerous situation where serious engine and/or transmission damage is the result." is this removing/nullifying the Dangerous Torque Management I've heard people complain about with the GPs or, is it saying that this is one or the other; You can either have "Sub-par performance" or "serious engine and/or transmission damage"?

Thanks for the help everyone.

the opentuner notebook is good info for the series three as well, honestly a lot of it carries over to tuning in general, not just the 3800.

Jerry's Tuning Notebook was our tuning bible throughout the PowrTuner years.

Tiny tuner is a program that helps create table changes based off of scanning different paramters. You plug in your current table and scans and it spits out a new table for you to upload to your PCM.

No, thats "Table Modifier - The Scan Data Thingy".

Tiny Tuner lets you manually edit all the tables in your .BIN file, including many tables you cannot access from HPT or PowrTuner. It doesn't include any communications code, so it can't upload the new BIN file to your PCM, or read the BIN file from your PCM. You still need PowrTuner/HPT for that step.

Yeah, Eddie's table modifier scan data thingy was great for scaling my timing/commanded AFR tables when we did the wideband tune on it.

That's true, I have both but haven't used them in awhile.
