Anyone ever use this program before? How about using it for data logging a TGP?
What I don't understand is how to record/capture data.

I follow bit by bit paper/pdf directions and to no avail... no data recorded. The com port/aldl tests out fine, but it just "waits" ... What am I doing wrong or not doing? I cannot keep going into the program since it's a trial version and I don't want to buy a key code until I know I like the program. :?: :?: :!: :!: :!: :!: :?: :?:

TIA

I tried it again and what a waste that was... All it does is say, No PCM Sync, Recycling...

I'm not familiar with that program but I did a quick scan of the manual. Do you have the correct vehicle type selected for using the select vehicle type menu?

See page 36 of the manual. It looks like you need to bring up the serial data aquisition form and from the options >advanced serial communications menu select timimg. You'll want to adjust the slider that's the farthest to the right move it up to 205. The default is zero which probably won't work on anything as zero delay means no time to update communication. (How stupid is that to set it at zero for the default). To obtain optimum you will need to adjust down from 205 until you get the sync error again then bump it up a couple notches and you should be all good.

Good luck

Well it worked as in gathering data, but it would drop connection and resync again. I don't know why it's doing that. Playing with the timing didn't make it better. The key number I found to work randomly is 197. Anything lower than 194 or higher than 199 would just show syncing without connecting.

I think I found out that the serial port for the laptop has a piss poor connection. Bad enough they are unreliable as it is... It might need a driver update, who knows. I HATE COMPUTERS!

One thing I'm using is a Serial-USB adapter. Works great for me using Auto Tap.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812156003

That's what the one I got.

So that one takes the serial from the cable side and utilizes the Laptops USB? I might have to give that some serious thought.

Oh and I found that, that same company makes another one like so...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6812156008

Should I spend the dollar for that one? Or has it not been tried/tested yet?

From the TTS manual:
TTS recommends using only the Belkin F5U103 or the FTDI US232B USB to serial adapter for proper operation. If purchasing any other USB adapter, it is suggested that you find a supplier that will allow you to exchange and try several adaptors until you find one that works correctly with your computer.

TTS has found that most USB adapters do not correctly support the ALDL baud rate of 8192 Baud, and will not communicate with a PCM although they "appear to be" operating correctly.
Starting with version 3.5, DataMaster now offers support for USB serial port adapters. This requires selecting the Options- Advanced- USB Serial Interface in use option on the
Serial form.

This adapter uses the FTDI chip referenced above for $21.

Where would I find that Serial-USB adapter? ... I know I will need to install a driver with any usb I decide to use. So something that comes with an installation CD for drivers will be only considered.

Yea I am owned by my lack of reading many times. Although I don't see anything about a CD for installation (reading owned me again?) ? The laptop I am using is VERY difficult to get it online let alone will require dial up. So downloading drivers is not happening. 22.00! mannnnnn everything so far has been marked up for this datalog/tuning stuff. I just am ranting, nothing ever goes as planned.

Thanks for cooperating with me so far peoples.

So buy a real scanner. Autotap or LS1M. I'm all done trying to help.
Edit:
Now that I see your scanning OBDI. I can see many problems do to the lame aZZ baudrate they are doing. There are a lot of these interfaces available on Ebay. You should be able to get hardware and software for a song. Do a search on Ebay for OBDI.

TTS is the only GOOD data logging program for boosted OBD1 applications. Also, I already invested a lot of money, time, and effort into where I so far am. I don't just want to give up and run into another wall of problems. Swapping to OBD2 is out of the question, using a standalone or piggy back system is +$200 I don't have and I just want conquer with what I have now. I'll just step away for a little while and come back at it with a better refreshed mindset. In the end I will end up with a usb adapter, just not right now.

Been logging and retuning for a while now. I swear, now that I have figured it out it all seems very easy. Saving files are a cinch BUT don't forget to do a certain step in the beginning or else the file will not be saved for later viewing needs.

Does any one know how to read TTS files? I could send you the file if you know how to read them to help me tune a little better. I would like to have some other input.
