Anyone have any suggestions on a tuner/scanner for our cars? I liked the Hypertech one, but it doesn't look like it is available for our cars.

Autotap (Scanner requires laptop)
LS1M (Scanner uses Palm)
Aeroforce (Scan gauge)
Scangauge II (Scan gauge)
HPtuner (Scanner/Tuner)
Flashscan V2/EFILive (Scanner/Tuner not sure it supports 04+GP)

Ok, where do you find these? I have both a desktop and a laptop, so there's one issues that is covered. I was thinking the Autotap one. Where would I find that one?

If you can find a used DHP Powrtuner, you can scan and tune with that also. Unfortunately, people like to resell them for more than they paid, or more than they were retail!

I have one though, and I love it. You can definately tune an 04 on it too.

I can get you this for 269.99

I like the look of it but I'm undecided because the Aeroforce in the vent ball is pretty sweet!!

That DashHawk looks pretty nice. I'm wondering how the daytime visibility is. I know the Aeroforce is hard to see during bight light situations. I guess it would all depend on where you mount them.

Brick is right about the DHP. Sorry I forgot that one. They are hard to come by, and since they are discontinued I don't know how well support is handled.

I don't really need a scanner since I have 3 aeroforce gauges. Maybe I will just leave the tuners to the professionals. I wouldn't know what to do anyhow. When I get my DHP PCM, I will get myself an appointment for a tune, and we will take it from there.

If you already have Aeroforce then why are you asking about scanners?

I thought the scanners everyone talks about with tuning a car was different than the Aeroforce scan gauges. I also thought that scanner/tuners were one in the same, or can you get just a tuner?

If you buy a tuner, you get a scanner.

If you're going to make an appointment for an actual tune, don't buy a DHP PCM prior. You'd just be wasting money because the actual techs that tune your car would just refine the DHP just like they would with your stock PCM.

1) You don't need a DHP 1.0 if your going to have it tuned
2) You don't need to have it professionally tuned

Get yourself a used DHP power tuner ($300-$350).......There are sooo many write ups/tutorials, you can learn everything very easily......

And trust me, you don't want to be getting a dyno tune if your GP is a DD.....The amount you'll pay for a professional tune will buy you a tuner

Of course, HP tuners are much easier to use (Select settings like normal, aggressive, and performance)............DHP is more of you just do it on your own

But if you're only tuning your GP, then HPT is a waste of money
