Hey again everyone,
I just ordered my HPTuner and I was just curious if it would be more beneficial to tune off of my Overkill 4.0 PCM or tune my stock PCM?

Will locks his PCMs, so you can't do anything with his. That said, it's no big deal, because you would want to start from scratch anyways, so you know exactly what has been done.

Ah that works then. I like that just because I'll be able to get some cash back from it. Woot.

Yeah. Tuning is fun. But, be careful, and don't get to ambitious. Take small steps.

You are incorrect.

Wills 4.0 tunes are unlocked so you can do whatever changes that are needed. His earlier tunes were locked.

Thank you for the correction. I've never really had any interest in the Overkill PCMs, so was unaware of the change.

It would be a good idea to save your current tune on your computer, just incase you mess something up you can always go back to what it was before you messed with it.

Is it possible to copy the Overkill 4.0 PCM onto my stock PCM? I'd like to get some cash back for my box tune but I wouldn't know where to start on a new tune. Also it would be nice to start from the box tune just to see the difference in the two.

yes it is. put the pcm in your car pull the file off it save it to your laptop put other pcm back in and should be able to write over the stock file. I suggest pulling the stock file off your STOCK pcm thats in your car before doing anything.

Yea that was the plan. I wanted to be able to return the car to stock if need be so that file will definitely be finding a safe place.

The 4.0 tune is definitely a good starting point, a lot better than starting from scratch. Just make small changes to the tune until you get to where you want to be.

I guess while your tuning you just go by the feel of the car right? Are there noticeable differences when changing timing and stuff?

You go by KR, timing, AFR (from wideband) LTFT

Oh yea, KR is pretty important, forgot to mention that. Thanks for all the info guys. When my other parts get here and my GP gets back on its wheels it'll be tune time!!
