I was just chatting with FastKatt and Vundabar in the IRC chat about stations that advertise their 10% Ethanol (E10), and those that don't. They said one station they said doesn't advertise having E10, but they just pay a fine and don't put the sticker up. That came from the stations' management, apparently.

So, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find out what the stations in your area are selling. If they have the 10% Ethanol sticker, then we can assume that it is E10. But, if they do NOT have the 10% Ethanol sticker, then talk to management or the owner, and find out the skinny. We are going to have to operate on the honour system with them, and take their word for it.

Here is what I would like to see. Your city & state, with a zip code, and the gas stations' name and address. With that information, find out what you can, at each octane rating, even. I know this is a bit of work, but it could definitely be useful for others in your area, or those that might be travelling through.

I'll try to start doing my part in this area in the next few days, too.

No ethanol, no sticker. Know from past experience.

I take it back... They've started using 10%. Not long ago either...

Mobile = Also no sticker, but they said "the pumps are new", They do have E10 & think all local stations are using it...

I'll update this thread, or you can update the 1st one

Short Stop in Manhattan, KS 66502 Tuttle Creek Blvd. (Hwy 24)
advertised 10% Ethanol.
i would stiil suggest The Shell V-Power 91 octane gas on either location on Ft. Riley Blvd. not sure if it has ethanol though.

I'm pretty sure all gasoline is 10% year round here. It's no longer posted.

Clio, MI 48420

A quick rundown:
2 Mobil stations, NEITHER has ethanol
1 Murphy's oil, 10% ethanol, advertised
2 Shell stations, 10% ethanol, not advertised
1 Citgo Station, unknown composition
1 Marathon station, no ethanol

There are 2 other stations, but I can't think of what they are. From what I can see it looks like Marathon and Mobil don't want to go 'green'.

Are the national brands anything to go by?? I see some metioned, however I wonder if it is local or national. My wife told me the Exxon we have tried to always use now has a corn gas sticker.

I am all for ethanol, but for the almost ZERO price difference, lower MPG and water intrusion, they can keep it.........until the can sell E85 for 2 bucks a gallon like they said thay could and I get a flexfuel something!! :)

E85 is 2.69/gal here, 93oct is 3.79
It does add up...

I think I would break even with cost per mile in the end though...

BP right off 41 on Main St. Exit in Neenah, WI 54956(?).
They advertise not using ethanol at all.

Is this kind of what you're looking for? I get bored and read fast and miss some things sometimes.
