This stupid thing has me REALLY pissed.
I hope one of you guys knows what to do.
I bought the HP Tuners Pro version.
Here's where I've been so far:

1. Had fun getting the drivers installed so the interface would connect to the laptop [didn't know I needed to do this].
Would've been nice if that was mentioned at the install or done automatically.

2.I now try to connect the stand alone data logger - using the steps as stated in the help section - and get an error on the box.
The message I get on the screen is to try another configuration.

So far this damned thing has cost me more than $1,200.
Yeah I know ... I needed a new laptop that would run on batteries.

It will read through the translator to the laptop and put up a display.

All I want to do right now is datalog and save it for later review.
I've been to the HP Forums and I don't like the way they answer their questions.....email me.
Groan.
That ain't solid tech support,that's trash in my book.
Answer the question on the board so everyone can see it.
I found three instances of my problem and each time it went to email with people asking about the solution later in the thread.
Again....no posted answers.

Sorry for the rant,.but any help would be really appreciated guys.

I probably should have been clearer about the stand alone logger:

The laptop connects and can read the car's computer fine [I recently saved a copy of my stock computer's tables].
It's enabling the stand alone data logging that shows an error when I try to do it.
Any ideas?

Well this got interesting.
It seems the supplier of the interface switched memory chips and didn't tell anyone.
So after spending $90+ dollars to ship it to California,get it checked,ship it back to Illinois and finally back to me,I'm still waiting on a firmware update for the interface to make it usable [nothing physically wrong with the interface as Bill originally suspected].
Bill at HPT was nice enough to give me two credits for my interface due to the inconvenience.
That doesn't cover the almost three months I haven't been able to do stand alone which I sorely need.
Just thought the guys reading this thread might like to know what's going on.
I'll keep you posted.
