I have an Autotap that I just received today but I dont have the registration number for it, which is required to use it, and Autotap isnt open to contact until Monday. I have read that you can use EFI Live with the Autotap cable, however it keeps telling me that it cant see the interface cable. I have it set to USB (dont have a serial on my laptop so I have the serial-usb converter cable) and everything appears to be configured correctly, but it just wont connect to the car. However, Autotap sees my car connected, it just wont do anything until registered.

So I guess my question is this: IS EFI Live compatible with this gen GP, and if so, whats the trick to making it work?

All I wanted it to do was scan, sorry I should have mentioned that. I ended up getting it to connect, just had to go in to the device manager and set the COM port to anything lower than 9, which is all EFILive will read up to. Only thing is, it doesnt scan anything other than MIL codes. Didnt gve me any real time data on any of the gauges or anything, so that sucked. Oh well, looks like I'll just have to wait till Monday to be able to do anything useful with the Autotap :(
