Good day!

I was going to get an Overkill PCM for my 04 GTP- Comp G , but now I have an opportunity to get a custom tune that I cannot pass up. This is all new to me and with the mods that I have listed in my signature, what types of things should I change during this tune and why? I know I can use ZZPs tuned PCM list as a starting point, but wanted to some advice for those have done this. It is also understood that the person tuning my car will know a heck of alot and he is considered to be reputable, but I want to learn before getting the tune.

Also....now that I have the 3" dp and go WOT, my tires spin a lot more prior to getting a grasp on the road. Perhaps there is something in the tune that can help minimize this or perhaps I need to change my driving :)

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I would have him tone down or eliminate the torque management, remove the speedlimiter, raise the shift points alittle, increase trans line pressure, 3-1 4-2 skip shifts, 180 degree fan turn on, 90 sec fan on with key off to cool motor, and change tranny shift settings such as gear change speed and mph shifts. Also adjust the fueling and timing. I think that is about it.

So what do some of these things do.....I would like to learn :)

eliminate the torque management

3-1 4-2 skip shifts

change tranny shift settings such as gear change speed and mph shifts

Thanks!

Torque management electronically monitors the amount of torque for transmission protection. It is set very high from the factory this causes your car to bogg down during hard launches and aggressive driving. 3-1 and 4-2 skip shift changes what gear your car downshift into at a given speed. Like for instance if your crusing along at 50mph your car is in 4th gear when you nail the throttle the tranny will downshift to 2nd gear for better acceleration. And changing shift settings is at what part of the rpm band your tranny shifts at and the time it takes to shift. My tranny shifts at 6800 rpm and the shift speed is sought at .5 of a second

There is one it is just sought higher than a standard GTP. When removing the speedlimiter on a car, you really don't remove it. You set it to a number that the car will never hit. Mine is sought to 244mph.

Hey there!

The custom tune went well on Friday and I now have 0 KR! :) I really did not have much KR to begin with thankfully.

So now I can consider a 3.6 pulley (probably early next year, if not sooner) and the tuner will do an update with the 3.6.

Oh yes....I saw a thread about supercharger belts and I did not see what replacement belt I should use for a 3.6 pulley or is it just the stock sizing?

Thanks!

130lb springs and a double roller timing chain allows me to do so.

You don't need to worry about a smaller belt until you drop below a 3.5" pulley.

Thanks! Would it be adviseable to replace the current belt when changing the pulley with a better stock belt? and if so, which brand would be best?

Thanks

I have ran a gatorback belt and i think they do very well.

Curious......What timing you at? And what amount of boost you running? On your car when did you tell it to go into PE (performance Enrichment).
