I just got the powrtuner out after a long time of sitting. I am about to install an intercooler, so I figured I should get familiar with it again. So I went out for a cruise tonight and did two scans. The first one is a bit long, but has the high speed pulls on it after sitting at a stoplight for a while.
The second is short with two small pulls.
I am seeing KR near shifts on a stock pulley with mods in my sig. I should be able to tune that shit right out, I know. I have a wideband hooked up and have the input for it on my powrtuner, but am not sure how to get it to log on UVscanner.

Anyways, here are the scans. Any input as to how to eliminate the KR would be great. Thanks

I hope you'll forgive my observations, but my keen anal-ytical mind couldn't resist [I'm looking at your second log file].
If I read this right [I'm just getting my feet wet with the tuner packages],you've got timing retard at the top of 2nd gear.
Your max timing retard happens between 4,900 and 5,000 RPM?
There also seems to be knock between 60 & 70 MPH,correct?
I just had a look at your first file and the general trend I'm seeing is knock in the 4,000 + RPM range with higher gears and speeds [higher loads].
I also see where you're running low timing [14 degrees and less] in those ranges.

Shit, glad to see SOMEONE is reading this around here. This was my first post, as I normally use ClubGP and after this has sat for days with no responses I now see why I do that.

Anyways, to answer your questions... Yes, you are correct on all points. I think all I need to do is some more MAF tuning to get my A/F ratio enriched because my wideband reads about 12.2 at WOT. Good luck learning about tuning. I am trying to learn myself and it can be quite daunting at times, but the reward is worth it!

Read dratomic's thread a few posts down.

tuning-section-f20/re-kr-help-plz-new-scan-t20495.html

IIRC,you are running somewhere around 12 degrees timing around your shift point.
I don't think that's good.
Looks like two other guys are doing the same thing on the above mentioned thread.
Not enough timing can leave your O2's looking bad because the sensor is seeing unconsumed air as it passes by.
IIRC,it can also lead to carbon buildup in the cylinder and that's not good for keeping detonation down.
It's a problem we used to have on the Grand Nationals.
The computer would see knock and retard timing.
The problem was that only made matters worse.
What plugs are you running?
What's your basic combo of parts/mods?

I'm used to tuning turbo GN's.
These cars are a little different animal.
I'll get it [my GP is non supercharged].

I'm running AL104's. Mods are headers, res/cat delete, 1.9 rockers, and an intake. Should be KR free pretty easily. I'm working on some more maf tuning to get my fuel trims to settle in a bit better as of now.

Yeah I did. I look at the scan that hotrodolds posted, and it looks like he just bumped the commanded A/F ratio way down. This may be alright if I didn't have a wideband to tell me my real A/F, but I do. After some tuning today, I was able to get my AFR to read right around 11.7 at WOT, but my LTFT's were locking in at -2.34, so it's still running lean. I have a new MAF table ready to upload tomorrow so, I will see how that works out. After I get my O2's in order and start running KR free, I will start bumping up the timing!

Here's a scan of my drive tonight.

LTFT's went -2.34 and that means you're running lean?
I would've thought that meant rich and it pulled fuel.
Correct me if I'm wrong here.
What you need to know is that late timing means you could very well be burning fuel and air as the exhaust valve opens instead of exhausting hot, burned gases.
Exhaust gases that are *spent* are cooler than air/fuel mixtures that are still burning.
You could very well be burning up your valve job on the exhaust side as well as overheating your exhaust valve, causing it to act as a "hot spot" in the cylinder that creates detonation.
Make sense?
You could also be overheating your primary O2 sensor as well.
Adding fuel absorbs heat in the chamber to an extent, effectively reducing the tendency to knock,as I'm guessing you already know.
What is needed to be remembered here is that "Octane" represents two things:

The "ease" with which a fuel will light off and the rate at which it will burn....effectively it's volatility.
