Im assuming that you're obviously referring to a hand held tuner, not a person who tunes the car for you....?so, you're either gonna hafta cough up the $$ and sell your firstborn and buy a new Tuner with credits or find one local for cheap (good luck!) or in the F/S section of GPONA and hope there are credits/tunes left on it. Also depends on what you wanna use/buy...HPTuners are ridiculously expensive brand new but in the long run can pay for themselves 20X over. Ive heard that PowerTuner brand is easier to work with and more user-friendly, but does not allow as many modification options as HPTuners software....oh, and youll need a laptop of course. these are NOT like Tuners for pickup truck or diesel truck software where you can just hook it up and select power/tuning settings, you have to actively modify tables and chenge settings, etc. so above all, do your research first and be prepared before you go off and spend an @ssload of cash on something you are too intimidated to use or dont understand...take it from someone who's learned the hard way

Thanks a lot to everyone...after reading what Nathan wrote I think Im gonna get Overkilled and call it a day. With everything Im trying to doing right now it just makes sense money wise and plus I love my first born way too much. If anybody cares to share their thoughts and feelings on the Overkill PCM's please let me know. I really wanna know how ya'll are feeling.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Overkill PCMs and the guy who runs the company, Will, is a stand up guy and stands behind his product. Of the few problems I have heard come up, Will has taken care of them immediately and does anything/everything in his power to fix the problem. Now, im not trying to sell his products or talk about how great he is, ill let his work speak for itself, but if you dont wanna spend the $$$ to get a handheld tuner, an Overkill PCM is the way to go if you dont want to be stuck with stock performance parameters(governed speed, low and slow shift points, etc.). Only downside is that you need to do whatever modding you plan to do BEFORE you get a PCM from Will or at least have in mind what you plan to do to the car, that way Will can tune the PCM correctly for YOUR specs/mods. otherwise, every time you add a significant mod to the car you will have to turn around and send the PCM back to Will to have it "reflashed"(optimized) to accept that particular mod so you can take the most advantage of it. And you will get charged $$ again every time you have to send it back. So that's why most guys say buy your own tuner so you dont have to keep spending $$ and sending back a pre-tuned PCM. Glad I can help in any way and i hope i havent made you more confused

Not confused at all...more aware and more informed is much more like it. Im in the process of getting everything I want now (UPS and FedEx stay at my door) and the Overkill PCM will be the last piece of the puzzle. Thanks.

Hey guys,

On the advice of GPONA, I went with Will at Overkill. I just put it in yesterday actually and it's really transformed the car. His instructions tell you to do some datalogging with the car to make sure things are within spec and you don't make anything go boom. This is why I haven't given it full throttle yet. I didn't know this before getting the tune, so now I have to go figure out how to do it (already have a laptop, I know there's some free logging software out there and I need an adapter for the OBDII port) before I can really take a fun drive. Just something you might want to have in the can before you order the tune.

Hi, new to the forums. I just purchased a 2006 GP GT this saturday!! Love my car and have lots of plans, my question is pretty much the same as the thread starters, but i have not seen any type of tuner or tuned pcm for 06 and up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

About the only thing you can do is get a PCM from an 05. There are no tuners for the 06 and up GP's. Just be aware that it's not a direct swap. The 06 PCM has a lot more parameters than the 05, so some things will no longer work correctly.
