Hey everyone. Firstly, I've got an 04 compg with 36k miles on the original trans. Got a filter and fluid change at 27K miles with an ac delco filter and valvoline dex 6.

This has been happening for quite some time now but it seems to be getting worse.

After I've been driving for a bit and my car and trans are up to full heat the transmission seems to jerk. Say I'm driving around a neighborhood and making a 90* turn at slow speeds, right when I accelerate out of the turn I feel my car jerk.

Think of being on a sled in the winter time that is being towed by a car with a rope. The car gets going and theres slack in the rope so the sled is stationary. Then right when the rope catches the sled jerks forward then gets going. It feels just like that.

I can feel it under my seat pretty well and the passenger can too, but not as good as the driver can feel it.

This also happens if I'm rolling through a stop sign then I accelerate to get going again, I will feel the jerk.

Other wise the transmission seems to shift fine.
To me it feels like a bad mount or mounts, but I don't know anything so thats why I made this post. Thanks.

Check your fluid level. It sounds like you're losing line pressure. Remember to check it at operating temps on a level surface with the vehicle running.

thanks for the input.

I forgot to mention that I did bring it to the dealer a few weeks ago and they said my fluid level was perfect. I checked it myself and it was indeed but i wanted them to check also.
They also said they couldn't properly diagnosis the the problem because I had an "aftermarket MAF sensor," which is untrue but I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to deal with it. My car is stock besides the 180thermo, kn panel filter and poly upper motor mounts.

Torque Converter. However, an "Aftermarket MAF" still would have nothing to do with diagnosing your transmission... Retards. Don't trust them with your car ever again. Srsly.

Oh, I was thinking Throttle cable but since the 04+ has electronic throttle...anyways, the dealership is full of it. there is nothing on your car that would keep them from diagnosing your transmission or any other part of your car for that matter.

yea that was the last straw with the dealers for me. I have the extended warranty on my car through GMAC and I thought I had to take it to the dealer for that but I just learned that a lot of other nondealer shops can do warranty work.

Could be a mount or CV Axle. Sounds like a CV axle since it only does it around corners.

Have the same problem checked levels while the car is running to make sure you have the hydrolic pump running and the fulid circulating thru the loss of pressure on the pump will starve the transmisson of fluid and it will run HOT fast unless your running down the highway and then you will not notice it i suggest checking fluid levels again before you run the car down the road your killing your tanny... The radiator will hold fluid and the Toruqe converter will too so it is impossible to get a true reading w/o the engine running

I checked the fluid after a drive and then let the car sit for about 15 minutes idling. The trans temp was at 168*. I couldn't tell where the fluid was though. It was either really clear or too low. I'm pretty sure I let it get heated up enough but I will give it one more shot tomorrow before I start freaking out. Theres no fluid leaking anywhere though as far as I can tell. When I got my filter fluid change last time it took 7 qts. I will report back tomorrow.

alright. the fluid was covering 1/4 of the shadded area, probably not good but it was still in the zone. It took me awhile to check the fluid because its so hard to see. The fluid is very clear and I had to have the right lighting to be able to see it. So the fluid is very clear and it was bubbly. About 4-5 small bubbles on the stick everytime. I added the fluid and now it is up to the 3/4 mark. The symptoms I was having are still there but just not as violent and often. I know for a fact about 4 months ago when I checked it myself the fluid was darker and it was perfect right at the top of the shaded zone. Then had the dealer check it about 2 months ago and they said it was perfect also. So now I'm thinking there might be a small leak somewhere, are those bubbles air bubbles? I also park my car in the exact same place everynight and theres no fluid on the pavement anywhere.

A dirty MAF will directly effect line pressure in the trans.
