This is for my '97 GTP with 203,000 miles on it. It started with a whining noise that I was nearly sure was the power steering pump. I put in a used one & while I was in there found a decent amount of leaked fluid that I assumed was the PS pump since it had been leaking some. Well, that didn't cure the whining noise, nor has it cleared up the splashing of fluid on the underside of the car (can't tell for sure where it's coming from).

Now onto the trans issues. It has been slipping for a little while now & clunking into gear (partly due to worn motor mounts). The whining has become progressively worse over the three weeks or so we've been dealing with this. Each time I check the fluid it's low, sometimes barely showing up on the dipstick. Now two days ago I put in an entire quart & it's already down to the tip of the dipstick again.

My instinct tell me this isn't a seal or gasket, but rather, a cooler line. So two questions, is there an easier way to figure out exactly where this leak is at, or maybe your opinion on where would leak this much fluid? And secondly, how hard are the lines to replace, & where's the best place to buy a new set?

Oh, & are there any settings I can play with with the tuner to help with the slipping? Bump up the line pressure, possibly? I'm hoping the slipping is more from the fluid being consistantly low instead of it being more of a mechanical issue.

check visually look at the lines see if they look like they're leaking, also check both axle seals. Does the car whine in PARK, or only when moving?
