im doing some major upgrades to my trans and putting a turbo on my car but i remember reading somewheres that the tranny cooler is bad news

i wouldn't do it, tbh mine nevers get that hot, our trans is kaka, so i'd worry more about a new trans than keep your stock one cool

is that like regular drives? owned mine for about 9mo and 12kmiles and mines graced that once

210* is the normal operating range of the T-stat for a stock car that is normal.

the stock trans cooler is the radiator it is designed to let it stay at a given temp. get a cooler stat and retune your fan turn ons the trans temp will go down to match

i have a 180 tstat and tune from will

then there is something else going on a cooler would not fix only bandaid


the trans in the 99 runs at 180* and it is a stock rebuild car has a 180* t-stat and a DHP 1.5 file

Sounds like worn bearings. That's what the problem was when mine was running hot.
