I think im going to be alright i have 70k on my car and just ordered dex 6 and a filter

I know people have mixed feelings about changing tranny fluid on high mileage cars, but I plan to keep the car for a long time and want to get dex 6 in there

I'm just not sure if I should throw in a shift kit from zzp or not, what do u guys think

I just changed the tranny oil on mine 2 days ago, used Valvoline DEX/MERC and notice the car to run smoother. I recommend you to do it, my car has 80,000 on it so you should be fine. The recommended tranny oil change I believe its every 65,000 miles but I just got lazy on mine, plus the oil had a nice color to it so I did not worry much.

I'm new to this site but not new to my grand prix. I own an 04 GP GTP and my fluid looked like $#!T around 65,000k. I talked to a friend of mine who just so happens to be a mechanic with a 67 camaro he races super street  So I dove a little deeper into the trans flush cost fluid pricing ect. This was my findings Royal Purple ATF Fluid at $175 for 15 quarts $30 for a high performance trans filter and around $140 in labor. End result was $345 spent, and one mean mofo of a tranny. I've noticed a Huge diffrence in drivability and its smoother thru the gears. anti foaming agents, and all sorts of other good things are in these synthetics. Ive even put royal purple oil in the engine. Talk about HP in a bottle. Not cheap stuff But you have to pay to play. Royal Makes alot more fluids than i thought. Soon enough ima run royal everything I can. They offer antifreeze additives, power steering fluids, gear oils and may other good products.
