Yes, there is a reason, and a very simple solution. Our cars have what is called "Adaptive Learn", which means that the the car learns how you drive, and adjusts fuel trims, transmission line pressure, shift points, etc., based on how heavy your right foot is. The transmission learns to shift according to your driving style with the old fluid, and when you flush it out and replace it all with brand new, It cant tell the difference. It still has all the shift points, shift times, line pressure, etc. stored in memory, but they are all based on readings using the old fluid. So before you condemn your tranny, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset the adaptive learn. I have seen many tranny's "fixed" after a flush by doing this. Of course it won't "fix" all of them, but if your tranny is acting up after a flush, it is worth a shot.

Would you disconnect it before or after you flush the tranny?

It would be best to disconnect the battery after the flush.

Okay because mine feels like it's getting ready to slip but we did flush out the transmission fluid and put new stuff in so I'm gonna try it and see if stops jumping when it shifts.

Just wondering if I disconnect the battery will my alarm and stereo have to be reprogrammed? because I would hate to pay money to go get it done at the dealer.

I got a PCM flash and in the process they deleted all the adaptive learn tables. So when I pulled out, the transmission forgot how to shift into 2nd and 3rd. Was a bit interesting.

You shouldnt have to pay, when my girlfriend had her 00' se, her radio got "locked". She took it to the dealer, they gave her the code to unlock it and showed her what to do so if it happened again she could do it.
