car runs GREAT shifts through all gears just fine, but as soon as it shifts into its last gear it feels like it falls on its face and has no power. does NOT feel like a misfire, it still runs smooth just feels like theres an anchor strapped to the back. I dont know much about transmissions but ive heard this problems common just not sure what the outcome is to be. I have a very good scanner that shows live data and can control certain functions so if theres any testing, or any data you would like to know let me know and ill try to get it. again i dont know much about trans so im not sure what to look for haha

There are no codes stored in the system at this time.

a quick way to tell if the converter is locking up: while cruising down the highway, WITHOUT LETTING GO OF THE GAS lightly apply brake (enough to make the brake lights come on) your converter should unlock, and your RPM's will jump up 500 or so.

falls on face and feels like no power dont sound like no lockup to me.. i know i have no lockup (most of the time)

with no lockup it will drive fine and seem almost "normal" only real difference will be higher rpm while cruizing and worse mileage because of it. other than that you really dont notice.

almost sounds like your haveing an early lock up or like it wont unlock. what converter are you running?

Assuming its a stock converter however I was told the trans was rebuilt 20k ago. Somethings goofy I went to work yesterday and at 65 it was at like 2700 rpm and was sluggish, if I gave it enough gas it almost felt like it downshifted and ran like a champ, soon as I let off and cruised back to sluggish. Then this morn it was at 65 and only like 2100 rpms. I know 4th gear is garbage in these cars. I'm not sure what the deal is

When the car "falls on it's face" that's your converter locking up. You're not going to have a lot of power available while the converter is locked. Sounds like you needs to have your trans tabled worked on. I said this in another thread recently, I wish I still had access to mine, they were awesome and I could have sent them to you guys.
