I am getting my new 25k Transmission put in my GTP in a week or 2, and I had a question is their a difference between using supertech synthetic transmission fluid or using mobile 1 synthetic. Its a big difference in price ($8.00qt-$3.00qt). I know I should be skimpy with tranny fluid, but I used that Supertech Synthetic TF in my 99 SHO, when my fluid was bad, & it made it shift & ride better. But wat do you guys think.

I'd try to find Dexron-VI. It is a synthetic that is middle ground on the pricing you're giving. Even at my dealer, it is about $6/qt, roughly. Trans fluid is NOT a place to use cheap crap.

Supertech did have Dex VI Trans fluid. Can I use that?

I have heard great things about Amsoil tranny fluid, it is synthetic, but wont cause tranny slip like some synthetic tranny fluid. Me personally, I just go to the dealer and get 2 4L jugs of Dexron VI

Cant go wrong with mobile one, id say royal purple but they dont make a dex 6 yet. Amsoil is awesome stuff too, so is BG, ive seen BG products bring trannys back from the grave.

I personally think that our transmission's dont like synthetic fluid. its to thin for them. my car is proof. Right when I switched to Dex6 at 32K miles the trans started shifting slow at about 38K miles. By 60K I was in for a complete rebuild. One of my clutches was almost gone and there was no reason for it considering I hardly beat on my car.

Dexron VI is a semi synthetic fluid, no one makes it in a full synthetic.
