Hey everyone. OK when I was getting my car tuned (04CompG) I was told by PRJ that my 1-2 shift was sloppy. I can feel and hear the engine rev a little bit when I drive aggressively during that shift, so I wasn't real surprised to find out.

Anyway, I'm preparing myself to take the car into an auto shop. It is still under the major guard extended warranty and I will not be taking it to the dealership. I know of a few places that won't void my warranty because I have a tuned PCM. Afterall, the problem was happening before the tune anyway.

I have a scan of my shifts. It looks like my shift was timed at 0.52 seconds. I recall that it should be at around 0.25 seconds? If anyone can give me their email address I will send them the scan so you can take a look. Thanks.

P.S. This problem seemed to start occuring about 4,000 miles after I switched to Dex6.

IIRC dex 6 is deisgned for transmissions with tighter tolerance then our's, i believe Dex III is what SHOULD be run in our cars, but dont quote me on that.

hmm i'd be careful that sounds like the trans might be slipping very slightly so be careful.

it is slipping. i just want the stock shift times so when i go to the autoshop i can give them the stock shift times and then show them my actual shift times. The scan i have is before the tune. I just need some defense because i know this is goign to be a fight in order to get my warranty to cover this, i just have a feeling.

If your paying for it then they should cover is. If the scann the car and see the times are off from the stock shift times then its a no brainer. where are you taking the car to for the work I hope not triple edge performance.

haha, Dave= 4T65 master... You're out your mind if you think otherwise. Helped me rebuild my transmission by providing me with TONS of information and wasn't getting paid to do it... Let's see any other person or shop do that.

I'd still like to know why he's not banned for spreading false information.

Does he actually ever offer any relevant info on why he hates Daves business so much?

Just that he's "seen his shitty work, and wouldn't let Dave anywhere near a transmission." No...nothing has been offered to show any proof of his statements.

Unfortunantely Dave can't perform warranty work, otherwise I would be there.

I just really need some kind of proof on paper (hopefully something from GM) that says how fast my trans should be shifting at WOT. PRJ told me it was 0.24 for the shift while mine was shifting at 0.52

I would like to give the paperwork to the autoshop so they can relay it to my warranty company. It will basically be bonified proof. I just want to be as prepared as I can because I don't have time right now to mess around with it.

I had similar problems with my car over the last year. In my case removing the ZZP tune and adding the Overkill tune made the difference. Some people have the 04+ tune (tranny part) figured out and others do not.

oh yea, mine was a significantly worse with the overkill tune. when i dropped the pan at 18k miles there was quite a bit of dust in there. i again dropped the pan at 32k miles and there was a lot of dust in there as well. at the same time i made the mistake of putting in dex6 both times. im pretty sure the clutch is wearing out and nothing is going to fix it at this piont (55k miles now). my extended warranty ends at 72K miles. eventually the trans will get worse and worse, could be at 100k miles, who knows.

I have been running Dextron 6 for around 70k without a problem. Yours would be the first I have heard of to have the 6 cause a problem if that is what it ends up being.

Some trannys have just gone bad with your mileage.

Wait a second.. Y ou said you were tuned right.. I'd upload the stock tune and then scann it to see if its slipping with the stock tune.. and you should get the stock times as well. because if your tuned and the shift times have been change thats one way to get the stock times for the autoshop.
