Are these axles worth it? I am going to be running a 3250 stall with DR's at the track with a full built trans. Will stock axles hold up? Or should i invest in the some upgraded axles?

https://www.zzperformance.com/grand_pri ... &catid=105

The mods will be as follow
CAM will be XP or bigger will be a winter project

-ported inlet outlet s/c
-ported LIM
-ported heads
- MPS 3.0
-65# injectors for e85
-Built trans with 3.29 gears 300mm input with 3250 stall
-Drag radials
-55 dry shot nitrous
-Wizaird
-1.9 rockers
-TOGS
-ported 97 TB
-105# springs and retainers

the axles on this car need to be replaced already. But is it worth the money for stage 2 axles if i dont need them?

Wait till you break a stock one, then just buy new gm replacements. The more I read about the stage 2 axles the less I think they're worth it. The axle itself isn't actually being modified, just the boots and seals.

x2, it would cheaper to buy GM replacements and redo the boots and seals.

What about the southern Florida bullet proof half shafts? They are supposed to be able to withstand some decent HP. I would change the boots and seals on the halfshafts anyway.

im wondering what the benefits would be for you guys to upgrade to the GXP axles....i have never heard of anyone in the LS4 realm ever having any issue with their half shafts...Im in process of getting new ones....i installed the ZZP control arms and we chewed up the boots a lil knocking out the ball joints....but im going to take a look at Morad or my dealer contact....

If you look at their website link to the bullet proofers....they say 1998-2003 GP GTP i think or something close to that...and then someother models...like regal GS. ISS, and the SSEi bonnie...but those are supercharged cars.. all of them im sure...which come with the GM OE stage 1 type axles and that was before they put in the upgraded HD tranny..give or take some vague explanations here as far as when HD's where put in and what models, as well as when they started to do the upgrades to valve bodies and gears and shafts etc......

stage 2 simply upgrades the boots and stuff....and then the bullet proofers upgrade all the internals and boots and the balls that go to the case....but the HD tranny's already have the upgraded shafts...meaning larger...the LS4 axles look as if they could pull a dam boat! LOL

so it would almost be better for you guys i would think as long as your under 300whp to go with the HD style or and do conversion...and do the conversion kit....but our(LS4 turbo cars) are launching with 380-500whp at the track on slicks with no problems with the HD shafts...those guys at the South Florida probably just reman the HD ones...im not sure...i know they redue the SSEi's OE's due to them not having a core for them as they explain in website...those guys/gals have to send the core in and wait for the same ones back for them to rebuild them...i wonder if they will just rebuild your guys' shafts...screw the core...if you guys have down time in your cars...just contact them and tell them you want to send yours to them and have them rebuild them...just check...

I was curious of this to, i like to get a pair of GXP axles to replace the current ones but not sure of fit though.
