I know i have a minor fluid leak somewere but its not outragous by any means, nothing to be concerned about.
the other day in the snow i was driving through town using second gear start..which i hardly use as it is, but from a stop to shift into 3rd there was a slight whine, grinding..what gives?

Straight cut gears? lol.

If you have a leak, what's the trans fluid level like? The trans could also just be getting older and more tired. The cold weather could be taking it's toll as well. Was the car/trans warmed up when the whining/grinding started?
