So recently the reverse on my '02 GTP has started acting up. It works fine sometimes, othertimes it seems to be needed to be revved to about 2500 and then it catches and works fine, other times it does nothing until it bounces off the rev limiter a couple times, then it moves. Once it starts moving it is fine, all forward gears work no problem. Any ideas?

BTW i have 101k on it

One more question, I was looking for transmissions on eBay, will a 4t65e transmission from a '97gtp fit it, what about transmissions from the 3.8 non-supercharged.

Thanks

You better do an HD upgrade to the tranny because that one will not be able to handle the power for very long..... On the up side, you will have the 3.29 gears which will get you off the line more quickly.

Has the fluid been changed? That is the best I can do, not to experienced on tranny's. Aamco offers free inspections, I am actually taking mine in tomorrow to be inspected.

Checked the fluid last night. It was pretty low. Topped it off and it worked fine this morning, we'll see maybe that was the only problem.

Low fluid will cause it to do that. Also, I wouldn't trust the opinion of anyone who gives free inspections.

Haha yea I know. I am going to get a second opinion when I get a day off. The thing is, I think the 1-2 and the 2-3 shifts are the ones that need attention. When I am driving, those are the shifts I can feel, but the 3-4 is smooth. When I say that I can feel the shifts, they are light feelings not serious jerks or anything. Should the feeling of shifts get lighter as you go up, or should they be about the same?
