I am pretty sure my transmission is shot but to make sure.

I have no gears what so ever i was driving about 90mph and i smell atf out of no where look down at my speedometer it reads 120 then my car itself drops to about 50 and the speedo keeps reading high mph when i gas it and i dropped a good amount of atf

I figured it was i found a non HD that has been built for cheap price ,so i guess i will be buying it very soon.

Just a heads up, the the HD and nonHD trans have different gearing. You can run it in your car but would need a tune to compensate for the different speed vs RPM shift points.

you can use the non-HD trans just swapp out the diff, diff cover, out put shaft, and the transfer gears. basicly rebuilt the trans mission sens it will be torn down so far

or get a pass, axle, a tune (the car will drive like shit witht einproper gearing and wreck the trans) it would still do a rebuild on an unknown trans

just not the lengh the splines are diffrent

i foudn it out the hard way when i built the 01. thankfuly morad had a low milage GM axle
