Hi everyone. I have a 1997 gTP with a few trans problems. I'm in the middle of a engine rebuild and my transmission has 220k on it. I've been looking for a 1997 supercharged transmission on ebay and other places. As I understand the 1997 trans is a one of a kind and the other newer years will not work. I was told that the newer ones do not have the performance shift option. Is there a way to use a newer trans and still have the performance option? Thanks :???:

I think you just don't plug it in. As long as they will link up, you should be good. I always thought the Perf Shift was controlled by the Computer.

I think you'll be fine ... IIRC all the HD tranies for the GP cars are the same except for the 03 serires. The PS option is controlled by the PCM.
