i have a 2004 grand prix gtp comp g and ive already moded the engien and was wondering witch way to go with eathir built trany or shift kit and what is the cost?

A built transmission will cost you $2000~3000. That generally does not include removal/installation.

I bit the bullet because I was expecting to pay that much, unfortunately for me, I wasted over $8000 trying to get it corrected after it was built.

My advice to you-

If you have an option of an $1800 rebuild locally by a general transmission guy, or a $2500 option with a bit of work by someone who's 4T65E knowledgeable, take the second option. IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF HEADACHE, MONEY AND ANGER.

just in parts when i built the trans in the 01 it was $1800

i did the assembly, removal, and install my self

i know i was trying to hit it home that it's expensive and that a rebuild that is for $1800 or less is not going to last with more power over stock

i find trans work easier then most. hardest part is getting the tiny balls in the right spot
