do a tranny flush and add Dextron VI to it and maybe get a shift kit from ZZPerformance. That IMO will give you the best tranny life...
Struts wear out... Might look into replacing them if your getting soft in the corners or saggy....
Brakes...
Pads...
Oil/filter
air/fliter
MAFS cleaning...
Little FI cleaner...
New/removing the CAT always good for better breathing because they wear out and just start to block more air than they clean...
and listen for any sounds from the engine bay...
If you keep her up... She will rust away before the engine/tranny goes...

Every 10-12 feet.

jp, I was told every 60,000 miles or once a year depending on how you drive...
I do it once a year, just to be on the safe side.

Do not, I repeat do not do a Tranny Flush. You can change the fluid, but don't flush. If you don't have problems before a flush, you will soon after.

Evidentally your g/f's mom didn't know what she was talking about AT ALL. No offense but I have to be blunt there. you take care of ANY GM vehicle and it will take care of you. The Buick V6 series (aka 3800. it was originally designed by the BOP division of GM in the late 50s) is widely regarded as one of the top ten best engines EVER MADE (as well as the Chevy small block). Do you REALLY think that it would be considered one of the 10 best engines EVER made if it only lasted to 70k? Hell no! I've seen 3800s pushing 500k miles and still running strong. She does not know nearly as much cars as she thinks she does.
