First off, here's my budget: $3000

The rebuild is going to cost anywhere from $1300-$1800

While they're in there should I ask them to install anything special? I don't plan to do any racing but I do my fair share of aggressive driving.

I'm ruling out a shift kit until I find out if like what an Overkill PCM does for shifting. (plus, a shift kit is too damn easy to install to pay someone else to do it for me)

Thanks!

I am picking mine up tomorrow... Here's everything I had put in:

4T65E Master rebuild kit, late, with Zpack 3rd and 5 input clutch setup
Transgo SK4T65E shift kit
03+ Pressure control solenoid
TCC solenoid
Shift solenoid x 2
Valve body seperator plate for Comp G Tapshift
Bushing kit
New input sun gear
Forward apply band
Upgraded Reverse Servo Boost Valve
3.29 7/8" single chain conversion set
ZZP 300M input shaft
ATI 3500 stall converter (rated @ 3200)

Total cost $4,000 CAD, including removal/reinstall. I did this for a turbo build that will be almost all street. I didn't want anything
to go wrong, so I replaced almost everything to be safe. The transmission shop recommended all the solenoids be replaced as well. If you need any help, I recommend firing off an email to Dave@tripleedgeperformance.com

He will most likely save you some money as well if you buy your parts ahead of time off of him (I bought most of my stuff ahead).

Good luck! Hopefully I'm happy with the results, since I could have bought another GP to play with for the cost.....

you should think hard about this. think about extra high quality clutch packs, shift kit, and other things...don't go cheap.

^X2!! A transmission is not somewhere you want to skimp, especially with the weak 4T65e that our GPs are known for. I just had mine rebuilt also and the trans shop used all new Sonnax and Borg-Warner parts, HD Diff Upgrade, a ZZP 7/16" single chain 3.29 gear conversion Kit, Chrome Moly Pump Shaft, all new solenoids, etc. Gonna cost around $2400 USD including labor, worth every penny. Cant wait to get it back and drive it on Monday
