When I give her a little gas pulling from reverse and into drive, it takes just a second and then I feel a teeth jattering jerk and then she's off. This has happened a few times and I'm not sure what the issue is. Not sure how many times the fluid's been changed, or if at all. Little help before I screw this thing up?

I'm not sure, but on my 04, I have to wait a second or two after I put it into drive from reverse to give it any gas, or I get a good 'ol clunk.. Don't hit the gas right away once and see what happens

Yeah if I wait a couple seconds and lay on the gas gently then it's fine. Just today it felt like my engine wanted to go one way and the rest of the car another.

My 08 does exactly the same thing as the OP described...And like others mentionned, if I shift into D from R and wait a second before giving it gas, no problems there...Glad to know its normal behaviour, I was starting to think my tranny was slowly leaving me.

It appears to happen only when the car is cold (has been parked for ~8hrs).
