Hopefully someone can explain whats going on with my trans...
After an hour of driving.. the car starts to shift 3times harder as usual. It seems to be getting worse. If the trans is going bad I will more than likely be trading it in. Thanks!

How many miles? Any codes? Do you keep up with the fluid changing at all? Is the fluid burnt spelling and brown?

118,400. Fluids were changed at 68k, and it is still pinkish, but I did see a little bit of black debris.

Kinda sounds like what my tranny has been doing too lately :S All started after i lost most my tranny fluid installing headers and had to put back in nearly 2 bottles.

Yea i'm going to asap. I'm going to try and put my 3.8 pulley and stock tune back on as well. Hopefully it will fix it! If not im sol! Ill keep everyone posted thank you very much for your help.

p.s. I have to go to autozone tomorrow to pick these items up, All i need is fluid and filter correct? which is best for both?

Dexron best as far as tranny fluid but gotta get at dealership then all u need is the filter and your set.

Checkers or Auto zone should carry Dex VI. I just got nine quarts of the stuff for $5.49/quart. :mrgreen:

From what i've read DexVI is what everyone uses but I also read on gpf.net that owner of tripleedgeperformance.com recommended Dex III but no response in regards to why.

I threw in DexVI and a new filter this morning, seems to be shifting fine. If there is still a problem, it will definitely show up in the next 2 days. Good thing I didn't jump on the dealer train lol.

^ Good to hear. You gotta realize the tranny do eventually go out especially when modded. You just gotta put the money toward it for when it happens or contact ed morad and get a used replacement.

Hey i got a question. Can dex. 3 be mixed with dex. 6? I dont know what was in my tranny before, but i have been using dex 3 now, and when i looked today to see what lvl the tranny fluid was at it was at the bottom line :S Its not lookin 2 good for my tranny it was slipping a bit today before i checked the level :|

Well, i just drove it 250k after adding the fluid and its workin much better. I am certainly going to get a filter and change the fluid though in the next few weeks.

I didn't flush mine, just changed it. So obviously they are mixed! but the answer to your question i'm not sure... I know they are compatible, so it should be fine.

p.s Another question--Would off the shelf tune made in the summer effect the driving in the winter? (Cause the calibrations to get confused?)

Apparently 04 Comp G's transmissions like to fail. I've not been too hard on my car in the time I've owned it. I'm assuming owner before me beat on it quite a bit, however I think these transmissions just suck.

My transmission hit the end a few days ago, it sounds like yours krayman could be on its way out but with warning. Mine gave no warning.

I hope not! I have a ZZP pcm on its way hopefully be here next week, and it gets pretty cold up here in canada (-50C) so it better not!

Lol, 204k, that tranny has served a life time for a car. My cars tran died out @ 84k.

Ha, yeah it sure has i think ive put about 20k on it myself definately gonna change the filter and tranny fluid out completely pretty quick here and see if i can get a bit more out of it.
