Ever consider cutting your losses and selling it?

Just a thought.

Sell it for what? 4 grand? Maybe? Then buy even a cheaper car? Man I got no funds to do that. x.x Plus...I work. I need my car.

"One of the most common problems I have found after the milege gets over roughly 60K miles. The scenario.... You are driving in traffic for a while OR your car has sat for a while and is a cold startup. You put the car in Drive range and it wont move, or if driving you come up to a stop light and in heavy traffic and the light turns green and SUPRISE!!! You are holding up traffic with a car that wont go anywhere. The most common cause of this problem is a worn out inner surface of the Input clutch piston. I will post pics soon so you can better understand why it IS a real problem. Once the inner sealing area wears it can prevent the inner lip seal for the piston from sealing properly. You may find that revving th engine up will finally get the car to move and it will BANG into gear. This is because the pump in the transmission is working harder and moving more fluid thus allowing the added fluid to overcome the leak which prevented the clutch from either initially applying or staying applied." -Triple Edge Performance

This pretty much nailed exactly what's going on with my transmission. Problem is, now I have to find a way to repair this because I cannot afford a new transmission for awhile. Is there a way I can get this repaired without paying $1,000?

I dont see it happening, time to pick up a second job  . And NEVER let your mom pick a car out for you. Before you buy any car, research research research. Be there yourself and ask the proper questions.

^^^Xmillion

There is not way to "repair" the trans other than drop it down and rebuilt the internals or just get a used trans and throw it in.

lol. You think I just let her go buy it and knew about it? Bah. Heck no. I almost was able to get an '07 GTP, but then out of the blue she buys this '04 GT with problems out the ass. I put already about two grand in it to replace the radiator and a few other things. If I had have some mechanic experience, I would have replace the dang radiator myself. Sickens me too because she used MY money without ever letting me know because she refused to "let me hold onto it." Doesn't matter now though. This was forever ago. I just need to get the damn thing running without breaking.

Also. My oil pump, I believe it's called, is out. Suckers at Jiffy Lube put way too much damn oil in my car when I returned from LA to visit my parents. Well, I've had numerous little problems since the oil change, and now this. If I run my car any longer without a fix, I could blow a rod. That would be bad. On the bright side, I gave the guys back in LA a call and Monday I am supposed to call again in the morning to speak to their district manager who may cover the cost of a repair at the mechanic in Albuquerque (He better or I will be so pissed).

Whoah, Oil pump doesn't even work. DO NOT EVEN START YOUR CAR. I REPEAT, DON'T EVEN START YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!! You will burn up more than a rod if you even try to drive without oil pressure. Cash for clunkers videos are coming to mind

Well, they never paid for it. Told me it was "long term damage" and they had NO proof of that, nor sent me any details of HOW it was long term damage. So, I used my student loans to fix it. Everything under the hood is now been rebuilt or replaced, except the transmission.

Well, now my tranny is out, but I have gotten a new job. Come time next Friday, I'm going to ask for a loan to buy another transmission, and just put it in myself with help of a friend of mine.
