I need new tires and wanted everyones oponion on some good tires. I want some decent all season tires, we get some bad snow here but we also get alot of dry time so I don't want just snow tires. I figured we could get everyone to suggest their favorite tires for any season and we could make a sticky with GPONA members favorite tires for every season. Also any specifics for GXP and normal GPs and older GPs would be sweet. Links, pics, and prices would be sweet.

Depends, you looking for something that is a good performance tire, all season tires, or just a lasting tread life?

-- Wed Sep 22, 2010 9:15 am --

Here's some options

Performance tires:
Michellin Pilot Sport
BFG g-force KDW or KDWS
Hankook Ventus
Pirelli PZero

All season:
Michellin MXM4
Bridgestone Potenza
BFG gForce Super Sport

Hope that helps ya out a little.

I really like my Goodyear Assurance Triple Treads.

They handle snow like a champ.

So turns out my allignment was off super bad lol. Not sure how I never run over any big potholes or curbs. Anyhow it was so bad when I got to Pittsburgh from driving 15 hours straight home from Daytona Beach I looked at my front driver side tire the wire of the wall was fraying out haha. Im so suprised it didn't blow. So the only place that had any tires in our size was NTB so I ran up there and got two new front Falcon all season tires on there. They look pretty nice and ride really quite. I also had to get the allignment fixed and I can sure feel the difference. They couldn't belive I was still driving with how bad the tire was. They said it would have deffinatly blew out if I drove it anymore.

I am currently running the following. For a street tire it is very sticky and I would recommend them to anyone wanting a performance tire.

Sumitomo HTR Z II
255/45/18
Front and Rear

Hey there,

Do you run those in winter or do you have snow tires? I am trying to determine how far perfomance wise I should go versus getting high perfomance all season tires.

Thanks!

Need a good sticky tire for the factory 17" rims. I will be picking up a new set on Friday. I found out that these tires can accept a wider footprint than the 225's. Thinking about a P235/50/R17's right now...

I don't drive the car in winter. These would definitely not work for ya in the winter.

Same here Roger, im looking for some new rubber for my 17s. Its getting kind of confusing. I am not lowered so im wondering if the shorter sidewall on the 235/50/R17 would actually create more of a wheel gap. is that why they are 225/55R17 from the factory, the "55" fills in the wheel wells better than a 235/50R17?

You probably won't notice it unless you go below a 45 sidewall which i wouldn't recommend anyway. I think I may pick up the Goodyear Eagle GT's since they have improved their tires considerably and they are an all season tire. W rated with a 50,000 mile guarantee. There are a few more out there but you have to do your research to be sure.

I had the Assurance TripleTreads on my GP and loved them. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a long-lasting tire that's good in all conditions.

If you're looking for a high performance all weather tire, I'd recommend the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position. They're as good as some Summer only performance tires I've had when dry, are great in the wet, and good in light snow.
