I was going to a bit of suspension work this year. I find our cars have plenty of power, handle "ok" as well...but I'd like to improve it just a bit. Here is what I was thinking:

Dorman 35mm (34?) solid front sway bar
GMPP 18mm solid rear sway bar
KYB GR2/Excel G struts
ZZP lowering springs
Short dog bones

Does this setup make sense?

Dorman 35mm (34?) solid front sway bar > YES
GMPP 18mm solid rear sway bar > YES
KYB GR2/Excel G struts > Yes
ZZP lowering springs > NO. There just SSC/DNA knock offs. Buy the ones from the link below and save $$$. Before anybody sayes there not the same...yes they are same quality etc. I ran both SSC until I sold them and now run DNA springs. Both ride the exact same..no sag

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DNA-BLUE-SUSPEN ... 900wt_1054

Short dog bones > NO!! Vinnie Spacers will eliminate the need. Plus if you decide to add headers down the road...shorter engine bones will not work.

Added to the list...get a set of Vinnie Spacers (Vendor on our site) his spacers will raise the engine back up to it's original position. When you lower your car your engine/tranny is lowered causing CV axles to be more prone to tear.

Pogo Washer > available from ZZP. Cheap add on to eliminate any pogo you may get when lowered. This attact on top of the strut mount.

New strut mounts. Monroes are good. Rockauto.com.

Front and rear STB bars. By far one of the cheapest and best upgrades you can do. Check the b/s/t or zzp also sells them.

Don Romes STB bracket. Basically eliminates the need to drill when adding STB bars. (His a vendor on here).

Besides everything I suggested be sure to check your control arm bushings and if there in good shape no need to change them. If not buy some dorman replace arms from either rockauto.com or wbodystore.com

i am just going to go x2 to all that

the STB are easy to install with DR brackets as well really makes the rear a snap to install and no holes have to be drilled into the car

Agree 100% with all of it. Get some DR STB brackets/bars, don't give ZZP a penny of your money, get the DNA's or find a vendor who still sells SSC's if you don't mind spening the extra coin over ebay brand item or ZZP's overpriced ebay item.

Thanks guys, will keep all that in mind :). I need new shocks this year, all around...I figured while it was apart, might as well improve on things. I wasnt looking at spending large $$$, and the new list sounds about right. I've looked alot of stuff up, and I know I could easily dump 5 grand into the suspension of a car worth barely more to begin with lol.

Yah I think I am gonna take the eibach off and give the others a try. Get a little better ride, who knows will have to see.

Btw I was looking, and didn't find anything for the regal at all. (Was thinking they may have a slightly higher rate for the more " comfy " ride of a Buick.) And yes I know the gp and the Buick are the same. Just was wondering if there where different spring rates.

And one other thing. The ssc springs are progressive right? What about the DNA? They just show a rate.

some GPs had the comfy pregressive rate of the regals

case in point the 01 GT but it was a rental and was part of the BQ2 package

I looked up the other springs as well. SSC's progresive rate sounds tempting...but 1.8 inch drop doesnt >_>. I drive through snow....lots of snow. Drifts that will swallow your car. ZZP only advertises a 1.2 inch drop. My old soft springs probably sit that low, at most. I cant even find a drop for the DNA's, but I only used crappy cell-phone internet so...

Same here lol. Believe me that I would love to drop it 2 inches, but I do need to think practical. Its my only car. I can get away with anything less then 1.5 inches. I'm not too keen on plowing the road with my underbody lol.

EDIT: Wow...I just realized I've had my car for 2 years...and this is likely my last year of owning it. My insurance is going to take a huge drop by March next year. I'll probably be looking at buying something else (G8 GT I hope...unless common sense kicks in and I buy a G6 GTP, better on gas lol)

I would think a lowered gp would do better in the snow than a g8. Which ever you get a cheap 4x4 for winter ( s10, Nissan, Toyota, ect) then you don't have to worry about the snow so much.

True enough. Then again, I might keep the GP as a "winter beater" untill the car is well-and-truely shot lol. I wont get a damn thing for dealer trade-in, I know that. I MIGHT be able to sell it for 5 grand as it sits, and a dealer would likely try to get away with giving me half that.
