let me know then how they book, comparitvly after the struts poke through the towers and the seats start comming through the floor like the gtx. it may be a high milage 97 body, but something tells me it will be around long after your current/recent gp's. ( accedents aside)

I'm going with zzp springs, I dont have much choice. They have the least drop. Lol I'm nuts to put 1500 into my suspension on a car I will enjoy for one, MABYE two more summers.

I wouldn't give ZZP a dime for those springs, especially after the crap they pulled with Speedball over lowering springs. If you don't want to go lower than 1" why bother lowering it at all IMO. Just rock stock height and get some different struts to aid in handling. Or go the coilover route so you can raise the car up in the winter months.

Meh, its 1.2 inches actually...and well if you dont think it will make a difference in handling then I wont bother. I wanted a slight drop, not much. And coilovers are insanly expensive lol.

It will make a different in handling, but again I wouldn't give a dime to Zoomer for an ebay product which costs 1/2 as much. The only review on ZZP's site say 1.2" drop but I'll bet a dollar that that person measured the height 10 seconds after he lowered the jack, thus the springs never even settled. Knowing ZZP's history, the springs they are selling are straight up DNA's 1.7"ers, they just post it on their site differently. Mind you, they listed SSC's on their site and sent Speedball DNA springs, 1 day later Trey called them out their site changed to say "ZZP springs" instead of "SSC Springs." I can assure you that ZZP didn't find a manufacturer in a couple days (again looking at speedballs case) to make them custom springs for market they don't even care about anymore since it's now a dead platform.

True enough. I might not. I need to consider Im not keeping the car past one more summer, mabye a bit of next lol. Then its strictly a winter car. So i might not bother, as the case may be.

If you feel the need, go used for sure. Or just rock it the way you are knowing it's future

So then the question needs to be asked (and Mater I know this is going to sound horrible seeing as your old part is sitting in my lap lol) is it worth doing sway-bars and STB's, without lowering the car? I cant see why not. It should still make a difference, and I'm getting KYB shocks for sure, mine are near shot.

I need to clarify again. I absolutely will not lower my car 1.7 inches, the car would be impossible to use in the winter. So I need to know, that being said, if its worth doing anything besides shocks, which I know I need.

I use my car in winter and I have 2.5" of ground clearance between the road and the subframe

STB's will help regardless of going lower or not, as will bigger sway bars, different struts, etc. A drop is not required to have a better handling GP, it obviously does help and makes it look better, but you can still have noticeable results without a drop.

Ty planeboy :). I just thought of this after my last post: if I can find someone who can "cold" cut the springs, I might be able to get the small drop I want. I realize that cutting can compromise the springs(change spring rates, even change the structure of the steel itself) so I obviously wont do it if I can't get it done properly.

yes, yes, yes.. you will notice a difference if you do the handling mods without lowering.. i had the gmpp bars on my 97 after i put stock struts and spings and i forgot about the bars till the first corner i turned.. the effect of the handleing package is just amplified when lowered. but it still helps.

Cool lol. I do look forward to getting everything together and in. Also my shocks arent too bad. I might just do stb's and sway bars for now, see how it goes. BTW Mater, the part showed up today, perfectly intact :)

So now I'm shopping for a rear bar lol. I had in mind the GMPP rear sway bar, it will probably be the easiest one to find. But I found the Addco bar (22 mm, 7/8 inch) I dont like the price, but I do think it would be a better match for the front bar. Anyone have any other ideas? Mabye I can get something 20-22mm for less then the Addco bar?

NVM lol...called up GM and got the genuine GMPP stb's and rear sway bar...only $135 for everything lol

So I picked up all the parts yesterday and...as you guys said I need stb brackets. GM wants you to mount them directly to the strut towers lol.

DRcustomparts.com. Sometimes you can find them used but they sell pretty quick. Spend a few bucks and save your time drilling into the body of a car. but we all know GM isn't the brightest manuf.
