Just had a load of new front and rear suspension parts fitted, and the mechanic advised me to get my driver's side wheel hub replaced before he would adjust the tracking. My front tyre had started wearing unevenly, and I was getting a ticking noise as the wheels went round when I drove the car. Will be getting a new tyre, too!

Want to order a Timken 513121 from Rockauto, but is it best to replace just one or both hubs at the same time? Looks like one side of the front suspension had already been replaced, as one side was bolted on, while the other was still rivetted on from the factory.

Would appreciate some feedback on this before I order.

Most people just replace the bad bearing since the part isn't cheap plus the cost of the labor.

Cheers Don, just wondered if changing hubs worked the same as brake pads. Y'know, change both sides at the same time. Will just order the one.

Having seen the parts that were pulled off my car, the suspension was pretty shagged!. No rattles now though!

Went to order a new hub bearing, and found that there are 2 types; an early one, and a modified one which has slightly different sizes. How do I know which one is likely to be on my 1998 GP GT without stripping the whole thing down, which I am physically unable to do at the moment?
