Does anyone know if its possible to replace a broken rear wheel stud without removing the hub? The service manual says you have to remove the hub to do the rears, but would like to avoid doing that if possible.

Alas you do have to pull the hub =( Matt and I did one not too long ago and you can't get the old stud/new stud in or out of place. We pulled the hub tossed it up in my press and had the new stud in in under 5 minutes. TOok longer to get the corroded hub off =/

Good luck!

Yeah sorry Dustin, the hub has to come out. I tried my darnest to figure out a way to replace a stud without removing the hub when I last did it (as Mike mentioned) but there was no way of avoiding it that I could figure out. But yeah, removing the hub was a pain only because it was corroded into the knuckle, if it wasn't corroded and required a sledge hammer and chisel, removing it would have only taken a couple minutes.
