To all in GPONA land:

Owner of 2004 GP GT2 asks
(1) Has anybody have any info on these Replica wheels vs OEM..want to upgrade from 16" to 17" silver alloys: factory wheels "the twisted silver ones"...the replicas are way cheaper...are these any good has anybody have any info on these replicas ?

(2) What about 225x55x17" tires vs 235x55x17" tires would 235's work on my car or would they be issues ?

(3) What could I get for my 16" silver twinsted rims..

(4) Is there a spare for the 17" what would they go for ?

You might have to show us the replica rims, but since they are replica's they should be close to stock. 235/55R17 tires will be just fine, and speedometer will not be off by more than 1 mph. How much you can get for stock rims depends on condition of the rims, tires, but i would guess 300 For a spare just order another replica and keep it in the trunk for a full size spare.

Also what's the width of these 17's? If they are like the stock 16's they are 6.5", which running a 235 wide tire on yes would increase the tire width and thus surface area, but at the same time balloon them a little more due to a wheel which is almost a full 3" skinnier. The only reason I'd go with a 235 vs 225 on a 6.5" wheel is if it's cheaper in that size for whatever tire you want

What are these Reps you speak of by the way?

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos use that and put your stock tire size in the first one, then put the size you want to run in the second one. It calculates the differences and tells you how far the speedometer will be off. Which in my case stock is 225/60R16 and im running 235/55R17 so if my speedo reads 60 im doin 61.23.

Haha, whoops, I messed up. Yeah it's only <1.5 mph off. When I put it in last night in http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html I entered 225/55/16 (should have been 225/60/16) vs 235/55/17, which yes then it would read 3.5 mph off.

Edited my last post
