Hey everyone, quick question.

I have a set of used coilovers for my car and I wanted to paint the coils on them since the tops and bottoms where they meet the perches are down to bare metal and since I live in the snow belt I would like these to last more than 1 winter. I was thinking that since they do flex under load that plasti dip would be a good choice but I've never used it for anything other than interior stuff so I don't know how well it holds up to the elements. So would plasti dip be an okay choice or should I go powder coat route or just spray bomb them and call it a day?

I would usually recommend a powder coat if it wasn't going on a spring. For the springs though, powder would crack in the cold with the amount of motion a spring sees. I looked into the plasti dip, and it says that its rubbery and can stretch/ flex so that is probably going to be your best bet.

In all honesty if at all possible, I would run stock springs though in the winter. It will help you get around in the snow, and you won't have to worry about your coil overs.

Good point on keep the stock springs on during winter. Either way with coils or my springs right now the car would just snow plow through the snow anyway  But thanks for the advice. I don't really know anything about powder coating other than it's pretty durable but I didn't know if it was super rigid and brittle or not.
