Picked up some 17" MSR's last month cause I was tired of the 18" rubber band tire look. Also didn't really like my ride height after lowering. Got the rims used so they came with DINKY little 225/45/17 tires. Finally got my tires in today (255/50/17) and man are they MEATY!

So you kept your vehicle lowered? or did you change that as well? How does it handle now?

I ma looking to improve my handling and have considered lowering the vehicle 1" and getting 18" rims and new tires. However, doing all of that will cost me a bunch, so perhaps I could follow your route and just lower the vehicle and new tires.....meatier tires.

Which method would you think be best for handling on a Comp G?

Comp G, i'd go wider.. Hell, you could even do a more common 245/45/17 setup if you just want more rubber surface. Lower it and call it good. These cars will never handle like european cars, but better than stock is all that matters haha

What size tires did you have on your 18's?

245-45-17 is smaller than stock, you would want 245-50-17 if you want to go wider. Those tires look pretty aggressive, nice choice.
